About this ebook

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Kirstin Burnham has lived in different regions of the United States and has traveled extensively. She is a trained practitioner in the healing art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, as well as a Reiki Master. Near-death experiences illuminated her perspective on the continuation of life after death. As a healer, she has helped people connect with the angels around them.

I feel blessed to have been apart of many peoples personal journeys through this walk of life. I have been privileged to be able to help in small ways.

    DEDICATION

I dedicate my book to all the individuals in each chapter. You, as the reader, will discover why each person has meant something special to me. My gratitude and love go out to all the family members who so graciously gave their permission to me to share theses vignettes about their loved ones. My hope is that this humble offering will allow the reader to experience the profound effect that we all have on each other’s lives.

    Preface

It is my belief and experience that angels are around us, both in the physical world and the spiritual world. Sometimes they appear to us at times of need or for no known reason at all. I believe that angels come in the form of the people that walk among us in our daily life as well as in spirit.

I have been blessed to have many angels in my life both living here on Earth or from Heaven.

Several Native American tribes believe that various people live in the borderlands between this world and the next. I believe that I have frequently visited these borderlands. Angels are all around us if we just look for them.

Here are some of my true angel experiences. What are yours?

    AQUATIC ANGEL RESCUE

It was a sweltering hot summer afternoon, and I was nine years old. I only had one thing on my mind, swimming. My older sisters only wanted to sunbathe, a summer occupation for teenagers. They did not want to be bothered by their younger, fish-like sister that only wanted to splash around in the coolness of the pool.

After waiting for what seemed to be an eternity, finally my sisters were ready to depart. We walked the quarter mile over to our aunt’s pool and I immediately jumped into the deliciously refreshing water.

Stay in the shallow end! my sisters informed me. They had to take me along and were in charge of the fish.

As I splashed around by myself in the shallow end, my sisters joined the ranks with our cousin on the row of chaises that made a semicircle at the shallow end of the pool.

Their internal timers would chime, and they would flip over every fifteen minutes to procure that even tan look.

After about forty-five minutes of this, I was getting bored by myself in the shallow end and kept eyeing the slide and diving board down in the forbidden zone. I would ask every few minutes if anyone wanted to go with me to the deep end. They would tell me to be quiet, and I soon devised another course of action. I waited until the timer went off and they all flipped over and were on their stomachs.

Here was my chance. I slowly and quietly swam down to the deep end, got out of the pool, walked out to the end of the diving board, and jumped.

Slowly, I fell, breaking the water’s surface with my feet. Into the deep blue water, I gradually descended, breathing in the pool water with no struggle. Everything was light blue, the color of the bottom and sides of the pool.

Suddenly, I hit bottom. Everything seemed to turn from blue to green. I looked around quietly, content to sit on the pool’s floor, breathing in more liquid with ease. Then, as if a lightning bolt had pierced the water heading straight for me, someone grabbed my left arm, and Whoosh!—I was propelled out of the water and lying on the cement. I was still dazed.

One of my sisters must have pulled me out of the water. She must have seen me hit my head on the board and not surface. That was my recollection of the incident, as a nine-year-old.

It was not until twenty years later that I established the truth of that day’s events. I had been reminiscing with one of my sisters when I retold that days proceedings and thanked her for saving my life.

She said to me that it was not her. She did not remember that at all. I was awestruck! All of those years I thought it was she that saved me.

After a bit of investigating I found that no one that was there claimed to be the hero.

Then I remembered. The memory of that day came back to me so vividly, as if I were reliving it: the jump, the impact, the sinking, up until the moment I was saved.

I remember being whisked up to the surface by a green light. I was then lying on the edge of the pool on my side with water flowing out of my mouth
