Hi. I would like to introduce myself to everyone. I’m Katt, the most popular girl at Eastway Junior High.

The voice announced over the intercom. I need everyone’s attention for this important announcement. As you know, this week is homecoming week and we expect everybody to participate. Even you nerdies out there, she giggled. And Beta Club, we need you to make all the signs and banners. Homeroom classes, we expect you to vote on who will be this year’s homecoming queen. Don’t forget to vote for me, Katt! Remember, everyone must participate! We will also have dress-up all week long starting Tuesday. Tuesday will be 80’s day! Be your favorite pop star! Wednesday will be tacky day! Thursday will be camoflage day! Wear those fatigues! And last but not least, Friday is homecoming day! Wear your school colors! Thank you classes. The intercom screeched as she placed the microphone back on the wall. Waah.waah . . .

Brittany covered her ears until the noise stopped! Brittany was also in the eighth grade and one of Katt’s best girlfriends but she was not as snobbish as Katt. Katt was definitely a snob she thought to herself. Katt was captain of the cheerleading squad and the most popular girl in school. Brittany was fairly popular and was also in the Beta Club with the brainers. Brittany was a brainer and a cheerleader. The best of both worlds, she thought. Brittany’s thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of you love me, you love me when she looked up and saw Mike singing in her ear. She started giggling.

Mike was the quarterback for the football team and the most popular guy in school, definitely not a brainer but a jock. He was actually Katt’s boyfriend but he flirted with all the girls. He was the biggest flirt in school. He even flirted with the nerdies. Those were the girls on the math team. All the nerdies were in the chess club or on the math team.
