Love, Inspiration, and Adventure: But What Do I Know
()
About this ebook
Let me say this right from the start, a poet always writes from the heart. So begins Willie OMichaels moving collection of poetry that captures the humdrum of life and makes it all quite magical. He believes inspiration comes from everything we see, whether that be a familiar face in the street or the experiences weve hadgood or bad.
OMichael never really fancied himself a poet until the loss of his wife, after which his mind yearned for outlet. He found that outlet in the written word. In his poems, he travels the world through his imagination to fictional places like the future Earth, scorched from the apocalypse, to real-life locales like the soothing prairie lands of today.
He uses simple language and vivid imagery to transport the reader to literal locations as well as places hidden deep within the soul. OMichael hopes to invoke a smile or perhaps bring a tear, but most of allhe wants readers to realize life is a miraculous gift, not to be overlooked. Take a moment to slow down, and feel the pull of Love, Inspiration, and Adventure.

My name is William Michael McDonald. I am a self taught artist and poet. I was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, NC. I dreamed of being an artist since I was a child. I never thought of being an author. I married my highschool sweetheart and we had been together for thirty eight years when she passed away. That's when I started painting and writing poetry to occupy my mind and time. My poems are meant to invoke a smile or tear and forget the mundane life for just a second. If I can do that I have succeeded. I hope you enjoy my book.
It's Just a Poem
Let me say this right from the start, a poet always writes from the heart.
But inspiration comes from the faces we see.
The expressions of despair or ones full of glee.
From the experiences we've had or those of others.
From the wayward son or jilted lover,
Inspiration from passion or loves we once had,
Of the good things in life, but also the bad.
We try to evoke a smile or a tear drop from you.
But after all, we are poets, and that's what we do.
Adventure
The Knight in Shining Armor
I'm her knight in shining armor.
I would never let anything harm her.
I'm at her beck and call.
I'll protect her through the storms, no matter how big the squalls.
I'll be there whenever she needs me or to catch her when she falls.
I'll shower her with flowers and stand guard over
