IN ITALY
I’m a stranger in town.
I wake up every morning
knowing I’m one day closer
to my ultimate goal—stardom.
Some days, you’ll see me
hanging around the lobby
of the Screen Actors Guild.
I’m the one staring at the bulletin board.
I absorb useful information about auditions,
cold reading classes, roommates wanted,
headshot plus computer-imaging specialists
and film production schedules.
On nights when I don’t have to
go to work the next day,
I climb the rungs of the party ladder.
I’ve progressed from C list parties
in East Hollywood to B-list parties
in Hollywood clubs to B list parties
on Beachwood Drive to B+ list parties
in restaurants along
