About this ebook
Howard Dodge
Born early in late September in 1964 west coast time. I was a less than ordinary child with dreams that seemed impossible to reach. Step by step as responsibility was thrust upon me. living on the brink of what many people would call insane. Fighting battle after battle dealing with abuse and mental illness. I have found a medium to express what it all means to me. At the same time showing my children that if a man like me can achieve a feat like this after all my shortcomings. Then to them anything is truly possible. I hope you enjoy reading my book as much as I enjoyed the experience of writting it.

Howie Says - Howard Dodge
October wind
Gazing up I ponder a single cloud out of place.
On a course to block the suns warm rays. I feel
the cool wind on my face. Remembering the extreme
heat of earlier days.
Of course mid-October is special to me. My daughter’s
birthday. I remember how much she means to me. I have
seen the years pass by. I know in her struggles, she tries
to hide. But I can see it in her eyes.
The leaves, my God what a sight too behold. Browning,
yellow, red to orange. The ways of nature are quite strange.
As with another season, almost written on the page. I feel it
in my bones, as I am getting old.
Soon it will be time for tricks and treats. The little children
dressed up so neat. Priceless moments, like these are meant
to keep. As grumpy old men rake the blowing leaves into
a giant heap. Many times chasing after just one leaf.
Then the kids out of spite. Dive into the large pile. Hearing
him yelling all the while. Seeing grandma give a wink and her
ever so sweet smile. Making hot coca for all outside. Warming
our hearts with her special love, touching all of us, so deep inside.
Late Summers Rain
On the porch I smell the rain. I look up to find the moon. I think tonight, midnight is way better than noon. As a strong breeze blows from the northwest, I feel the changes, tingle on my skin. Yes the heat has taken it’s toll. Yet it is another season ready to stand in the book. I search my soul, as I peek up to take another look. goose bumps slowly march across my back. I wonder about my sins, and wonder if forgiveness ever let’s us get a take back. But I still see the stars shining through the clouds. I wonder also how many times I’ll see them come back around again. Time to me is but the endless points, of new beginnings and the many different ways my life has been
