About this ebook
Suddenly, the students stopped their conversations and headed for the window where the voice was originating from. I was relieved that the secret service agents directed their attention away from me, as well.

Although difficult to believe, my day was never suppose to escalate to that excitement. I, Mr. Sumano, was simply going to enjoy another non-exciting Thanksgiving Day at work. The following pages are my attempt to organize my scattered memory of that faithful day.
Ariel Reyes
Ariel Reyes Sumano was born in Oaxaca de Juarez, Oaxaca, Mexico, but now resides in Santa Cruz, California, United States. Since the age of 13, Mr. Sumano's heart has been captured by the city of Santa Cruz, although he still sporadically visits his hometown. Mr. Sumano graduated from Santa Cruz High School and then took aviation classes at Cabrillo College and at the nearby Watsonville airport. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons, Mr. Sumano had to stop taking his aviation classes. Although he stopped taking his aviation classes, Mr. Sumano's head remained in the clouds, therefore he turned to writing short stories. Special thanks to my friend, Ricardo Melgoza, for helping me with this short story.

The day started horribly rocky. The time was 2:55 and I was still standing outside my house waiting to be driven to my 3 pm shift at work. I still had to stop at the store and pick up a turkey to share with the other coworkers, unfortunately scheduled to work on Thanksgiving Day, like myself. I personally did not mind working this particular Thanksgiving Day, since I was merely going to spend the night with a turkey at home and do nothing special at all. Something that I did
