About this ebook

After serving my country thinking that I thought preserved my Constitutional right to own the property I chose, I was wrong. Deborah-Ann Milette

Deborah-Ann Milette is an exotic animal rescuer that specializes in rescuing felines, be them lions, tigers, servals down to the feral cat. Today she does pet therapy with her boys, reading programs for children and fights the HSUS, ASPCA and other Animal Right groups trying to stop the banning laws. She lobbies with her boys and tries to educate the Senators and Representatives of any state to stop this Animal Holocaust that is slowly and blindly happening. They are also her certified and registered ESA (Emotional Support Animals.) She also does cat shows with TICA, when there are fund raisers. Today she resides in Oklahoma with Motzie and Peanut her Savannahs; where the Savannah breed was founded but is always on the edge of her seat waiting to the next bomb to drop in the state where the HSUS, ASPCA and PETA try to pass laws to again ban the lineage of her cats.

This book is dedicated to my beloved brother Roger

Butch Milette who passed away in July of 2009

and this baby sister misses him dearly.

I also need to include a fellow cat family member

who also passed away, Barbra Felbaum without her

encouragement to finish this book; it never would have

been accomplished. I kept my promise Barbra.

    Acknowledgements

There are so many people I need to thank for their encouragement in writing this book and pushing me to get the book done. A thank you to Rene Knapp for her help and encouragement and what to do to get this published. Lindsay Hansard and her fiancé, Darren Wilson, Sr. as well as A1Savannahs for their financial support to get this book off the ground and finally published, without their help I never could have got this project to print. Also my TICA feline family cheering me on and also allowing Motzie and Pea continue to be part of the feline world. Then there is Jocelin Pederson who helped me and guided not to mention all the encouragement she also gave me. Also I owe plenty to my best friend and English Teacher Master, Carol Taschereau whom I call Mom for all those years of correcting my English and spelling. Without all that constant correcting I never could have written this book that echoed in my mind each time I sat down to write. And my sister; Patty Coleman who supported me with the requested materials I needed such as the Dragon that helped to move this project right along with faster speed. I also want to thank Judy Pristash who saved me from having to decide on new photos for two chapters. Nice to know feline photographers!

    Forward By Rene Knapp

It was about eight years ago when I was judging a show in New Jersey that I first became acquainted with Motzie and Deb. Motzie was listed as an exhibition only entry because of his wild blood. I admit when I looked up and saw a giant cat who came up to my knees, with a very serious look on his face, I was more than a little intimidated.

Don’t look so nervous, his owner told me; he won’t hurt you. As I tentatively put out my hand to touch him, he looked at me with this benign look that told me he was a gentle soul.

In the years since our first meeting, Motzie and Deb have done amazing things for those of us in the cat fancy and for rescue. Whether it was a show I was putting on or a fundraiser for those less fortunate felines, they were there. Motzie would strut his stuff, take pictures with children and adults alike, and be an ambassador for all Savannahs everywhere. He would go on television to promote the show, newspaper offices and even a radio station! That was a bit difficult because he doesn’t have a huge vocabulary, but the DJ loved it.

Motzie and Deb are pioneers for their breed and have successfully shown several states that there is no reason to fear the Savannah. They have been instrumental in changing laws that once banned the ownership of the breed.

Motzie has spent his life as a soldier – opening doors for others like him; bringing in money for rescue organizations and show clubs so that their work could continue on. Through it all, he has remained that gentle soul I first met. Knowing Motzie has been a blessing and being asked to write this forward, a true honor.
