What Makes Christians So Hypocritical?
What makes Christians hypocritical is that they try to be all spiritual in a natural world. Some people can be hypocritical out of ignorance. We usually pass judgment upon things we are not accustomed to or are unfamiliar with.
Let’s talk balance. You have to learn to balance between the two worlds. God created the spirit to connect and relate to spirit on a spiritual level. He created the soul to relate to humans on a natural level. Everything is. We house a spirit and a soul in our bodies. God confirms our composition in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, ...and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God’s Word is spirit. The Bible says in John 3:6, That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Therefore, God distinctly divides the flesh (body and soul) or the natural from the spirit.
As humans, we operate in two worlds. We have to learn to balance between the natural world and the spiritual world. The spiritual world was created for God, while the natural (soul) was created for man.
God never said or intended for Christians to stop living and enjoying life because they are saved. However, for some strange reason, once saved, some Christians throw their five senses out the window. As Christians, we have to grow spiritually and learn to balance the two worlds. Nevertheless, spiritual growth cannot take place apart from the Word of God. Many of God’s children will enjoy more of His benefits than their brothers and sisters because of the knowledge they have of Him. The Bible says in Psalm 68:19, Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.
There are benefits such as wealth, health, peace, and prosperity, which are given to all of God’s children, but because of ignorance or the lack of knowledge, many of God’s children live in sickness, turmoil, poverty, lack, and much more.
First things first. Spirit always comes first. It is essential and vital that we grow and mature in the Word.
What does it mean to be a Christian? What is Christianity? There are many interpretations of these two terms; however, I want to simplify the meanings of Christian and Christianity.
Christianity is one of the leading religions in the world today, with Christians all across the globe. Unfortunately, today, Christianity has become contaminated, critical, and judgmental with an unleashed evil force of condemnation. These deterring descriptions have handicapped or crippled many people’s faith and cause them not to want to be labeled, identified, or associated as a Christian or with a Christian. The word Christian
has put such distaste in the mouths of many until they turn away, cringing at hearing the word Christian
come out of the mouths of others. Why is this so? People are looking for a person to be perfect when the only perfect one is God in us. Apart from Jesus Christ, we are worthless. If someone is indeed in search of a perfect person, they have now gone from Christianity to religion. Religion is what brings the thought of perfection onto life’s daily scene. Humans are judging you by your works or looking for perfect works instead of a perfect or pure heart. When standing for Christ, people will see nothing but love. We are saved by grace and not by works. As worthless as we are, Jesus Christ still came and died for us all. He overlooks our faults and sees the need.
The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:8 that love covers a multitude of sins. It is because of God’s grace, which affords His glory to shine so much upon us. It is God’s grace, which shines so brightly that all people can see is the light of His glory. His glory shines so brightly that people think you are perfect, which is farthest from the truth. Then it is God’s glory that shines you out, but it is His favor that chooses you out from among all the rest.
The term Christian
means Christ-like.
The Bible declares in 1 Peter 4:16, the Holy Spirit considers Christian
to be the highest name a human being can bear upon the earth. Christians are to be a representation of Christ’s love. Sadly, many Christians live a life trying to be perfect because they believe that perfection makes them more like Christ when actually, God desires us to mimic or represent His character, which is love. Of course, God desires us to make good choices; however, as humans, we have imperfections. This is where the judgmental and condemnation concepts come from. Perfect humans do not live on this side of earth. If anyone is in search of someone perfect, just know,
