ADAM, FROM HIM, YOU came, and by him, you will leave (the sentence that Adam was repeating daily).

Adam Fadel was a boy who had vowed to kill humans without exception; here, he was doing it.

Adam was not wicked; he was a genius who wanted to kill humankind for a belief that he adhered to.

The earth cannot stand to be inhabited by humans. Yes, he was a genius, and he admitted to being so.

A genius human being will always find a way to revenge that does not contradict the inherent righteousness. Adam's instinct did not allow him to do this, but the genius of Adam made this instinct to listen to Adam’s passion; Adam’s passion from childhood to adulthood was revenge.

He did not have any other passion. Despite his love for his sister, he did not include her in this passion. He repeatedly tried to make his sister an essential tool for his cruel task.

Who will he avenge, for who and how?

    Adam's Childhood

    I

t was not similar to our childhood; Adam's childhood was a bit strange.

He was a child who did not accept orders since he was three years old, as if he was born with bizarre beliefs. We will mention some of these beliefs. For example, he never ate animals’ meat believing that they feel pain when being slaughtered, cooked and eaten. He thought that animals feel pain until being eaten. Also, he did not eat fruit cut with something sharp.

He taught his mother ways to cut fruit with bare hands, and he tried to prevent her from using a knife. His parents were suffering from these behaviors, and they thought he had a strange psychological condition. They got help from many psychiatrists, but they did not get any scientific explanation for his case. Psychiatrists could only give them some pedagogical advice. To Adam, All that surrounded him was a nuisance. He hated the house, hated his parents, and hated the relatives, friends, and all people whom he met. Adam hated the way they talked to him and caressed him. In other words, all that surrounded Adam annoyed him except his sister, Sara. She always obeyed him and never opposed him. Sara was two years older than Adam, and she always looked after him. She also agreed with him in most of his actions, even though she knew that these actions were not right. She always showed fascination with Adam's behaviors.

Adam learned to read when he was four years old. This was the talk of the family and friends at that time, but he did not care about them. He saw that their actions were foolish and no more than a nuisance to him. He was often at his father’s library that included most of the

    3

famous books. However, whenever Adam chose a book, his father refused to give it to him. Instead, his father gave him books from his own choice, not that selected by Adam. The first book chosen by Adam was The Introduction by Ibn Khaldūn (Muqaddimah of Ibn Khaldūn); it was decided by coincidence, but the father had a different point of view, so he said, "this book is not suitable for your age. Take this book; it is The Little Prince written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It suits your

age even though I doubt you can understand it."

Adam took the book and went to read it. After nine days, he returned the book to his father angrily. Adam wrote on the cover of the book (they feed the fire on meat and plant branches, and this book lies peacefully on the library shelf ).

Fadel opened the book and found what he thought to be Adam's views written between the lines. Adam's father, Fadel, got angry and called him loudly. Adam heard his name, and he replied, I would find a way to read what I want. I do not want to talk to you now.

This was Adam, simply. Fadel let Adam go. Hours later, he sent Sara to him to tell him that your father wanted you. Sara went and brought Adam to him in the library.

He saw his father sitting at his desk and in his hands the book of

    The Little Prince.

Adam showed angry expressions, and his father rushed to say, Don't be angry. I will make a deal with you. I will discuss with you your opinions on this book, and if you convince me, I will allow you to take any book of your choice without any refusal. Adam replied, "I agree to discuss what I have written in the book, but I do not agree on this deal. You will not reject all the methods that will enable me to take the books I want. You will not know my ways. Agreeing on this deal means that I will not invent any new ways; you will be the only way. I reject

your offer and accept the discussion until I get bored."

His father was impressed and proud of his son, so he agreed. Fadel asked the first question: "Why did you write this sentence on the cover

of the book (they feed fire on meat and branches of plants while this book lies peacefully on the library shelf ), and what do you mean by that? Adam remained silent and did not find a response. Questioning expressions crossed his face so Fadel smiled and said, Do not write something that you cannot find an explanation for.

Then, he moved to his second question as he was flipping the pages of the book until he reached its first page. He started to read from the book, saying, "the day that my plane crashed in the desert was six years ago. The engine broke, and there was neither a mechanic nor passengers in the plane so I got ready to fix the failure myself though it was tough. My failure or success means my death or my life.

Then, Fadel said, What do you think about the writer’s words. Adam replied, "What is the failure that occurred in the engine? Is there a failure that makes it land and not fall? And since he said that the plane did not have a mechanic or passengers this means that the plane can accommodate passengers so why he sleeps on the sand and puts his life at risk? Why did not he sleep inside the plane?

Fadel was surprised and said, What are you talking about? Then he looked at the book and found a sentence: I slept on the sand on the first night and the nearest inhabited country was a thousand miles far away from me.

Fadel said, Do not answer something I did not ask you about. We will get to this if you remain patient a little bit. Then, Fadel resumed reading, saying, I had water only enough for eight days. What do you think about this? Adam replied, "How does he know that this water will run out after eight days? Does thirst have specific dates to calculate?

Fadel looked at his son Adam, saying, are you four or forty years old?

Then he said, You know, I did not hear about any eight-day trip before. You can do what you want. I agree with you. Then, Fadel said,

The discussion is over. Go now and find you a way to get books. When Adam was leaving, Fadel called him, saying, One last thing, can you answer me? Adam said, ok. Fadel read this sentence from the book, I love to listen to the stars at night; they are five hundred million jangles. What do you think? Adam replied, The stars have no sound and it is poor imagination."

Fadel replied, Did the writer disturb you because he made you go to the house garden at night to make sure? Adam answered, When I imagine that the stars have a sound, I get annoyed. Fadel said, "Describe what
