I HAD NEVER THOUGHT! - Lavji
Prologue
4th February 2019,
ANAND, GUJARAT
I came home from my college at 11:00 in the morning. I parked my Jupiter (Two-wheeler) outside our lawn, entered home, and suddenly a clacking sound was heard. I stepped back and rushed to the voice, which came from our neighbour's lawn. A good-looking young man in a white shirt and a formal black pant broke his lawn's entry gate by hitting his Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X. He seemed extremely fatigued.
I said, smiling, Oh my God! It will cost you.
He didn't reply anything, parked his bike in the lawn and locked himself inside the house.
I raised my eyebrows with disgust and moved towards my home. I went to my room, jumped to bed and went to sleep. After two hours of rest, when I woke up, an aroma came from the kitchen. I went into the kitchen and peeped. My mother was cooking tadkadaal.
Wow mom, today's lunch will be amazing!
I said, happily.
No, it's not for us. It's for our neighbourMalhaar's friend,
my mom replied.
I growled, noooo mom! He ignored me. His nature is not good enough.
Maybe he didn't want to reply to you,
she said.
Why? Is he a superstar? If someone calls you in a good manner, shouldn't one respond properly?
I asked.
So you try again to talk with him. Go and give this daal to him,
she said calmly.
I took the bowl and went to him. I knocked at the door.
The guy, seeming awoken, opened the door and said Oh hi!
Hii, I came here to serve you daal, Malhaarbhaiyaa told us,
I said with a smile.
Oh, thank you very much. Come inside.
He invited me to the house.
He took the bowl from my hand and kept on the table. I sat on his black sofa.
Sorry for that ignorance which I made before.
He apologized.
No, no, it's okay,
I said. By the way, I am Chintan.
I am Rohan Trivedi.
He replied and asked, What are you doing?
I answered, smiling, I am in the First Year of B.Com and what about you?
Okay! I am here for some work. I am here for a few days. Malhaar is my best friend and I am sure you know him,
he said with a smile.
I asked him about the current status of his job or business, but he answered differently.
Ohh! Yes, of course. Malhaarbhaiyaa is a very kindhearted person and he is very friendly to me too. He knows all my secrets too.
I said and laughed.
He laughed too.
Suddenly when RohanTrivedi talked to me about Malhaarbhaiyaa, my mind was got lighted by RohanTrivedi's love talk which was narrated to me by Malhaarbhaiyaain brief.
I confirmed with Rohanbhaiyaa. Hey wait! Let me guess. You are the one who left NikitaRai for her happiness, right?
He looked at me with shocking expressions and asked, How did you know that?
Malhaarbhaiyaa told me these lines, but he didn't reveal the full story of your love life, just like a trailer of the film. But after that, I became very excited to know the full story of your love life.
I said with curiosity and started biting my nails.
He kept mum for some time.
Please? I want to know your story.
I said in an innocent voice to melt him.
But still, he sat speechlessly. I thought he didn't want to share and changed my talk.
But why were you angry at that time?
I asked with a hesitating voice.
I was not angry, my mind is preoccupied with my friend, who is in hospital, and she is in the ICU at the moment.
He said in a calm voice.
Oh! Is she okay?
I asked.
Don’t know! I was in the hospital till 10:30 in the morning.
He said. I have not slept for days, and because of that, I ignored you too.
No no, it happens,
I replied in a pleasant voice.
My mind was revolving around the love story of Rohan, but I controlled my excitement and said Okay, then see you. I am getting late for tuitions. Bye.
Rohanbhaiyaa looked at me and said, Do you really want to know my story?
I became excited again and said Yesss!!!
Ok then, come after completing your tuitions.
He said and smiled.
Thank you, bhaiyaa. I will be there within three hours.
I said and rushed home.
I was very desperate to know his story. The tuition sir came and took two hours of lecture. At 4:15 PM, sir finished the lecture and moved away.
Within no time I combed my hair, watered my face, and flew towards bhaiyaa's house.
His door was kept open. I knocked, Rohanbhaiyaa?
Yes Chintan, come.
He asked, Do you want anything?
Yes! Just your love life story.
I replied.
He laughed and said, I have never seen such a person as you who is highly ecstatic just for a story.
Bhaiyaa, I am a unique one!
I said and laughed.
He laughed again.
Rohanbhaiyaa went inside the kitchen and brought the coco-cola cans. We took a sip, and thus he started his saga of LOVE…
..... After living for 17 years as a tenant, my father bought a house in the Satellite area of Ahmedabad. I was getting suffocated there at the new place. I was feeling lonely mainly because my friends from our previous society were not there with me. I was not feeling emotionally settled well at my new home.
I took a look from my window and heard some shouts He is OUTTT
. I quickly went down and chased the sound, which came from the society garden. I saw some children were playing cricket. I went to them and asked, Can I play with you, guys? I am new here, and I don’t have any friends yet.
Yeah sure, what’s your name?
One of them asked.
RohanTrivedi, I live in C-101
I answered.
I am Dhruv, come! Let’s start the game.
Dhruv said.
The cricket match started. Most of the children were in their teenage, including me too.
I played well and scored 48 runs. Everyone was impressed with my four sixes in an over.
You are too good at cricket, will you play in our tomorrow's match?
One of the boys named Jeet asked me.
Mmm... Okay, I will be there, thank you. By the way, can I know your name, guys?
I asked.
One by one they introduced themselves.
Rohan!!!
My mother shouted, Its dinner time, beta.
"Coming, maa, " I replied and bid good-bye to everyone.
Bye! And our match is in the evening.
Jeet reminded me.
Okay, I will be there!
I said and ran towards my house.
When my mother was serving food, my father knocked on the door. I rushed and opened.
Papa, I made new friends,
I said.
Wow beta, that’s good.
My father replied with a smile and patted on my cheek.
We finished our dinner, and I started playing with my little sister Urvashi.
It was 9 o'clock.
Batu! Come, let’s do your Mathematics.
My father said.
Coming, papa,
I replied sluggishly, as I hated maths.
I think it will be better if we study down on the bench with fresh air.
My father to me.
Ok fine,
I said.
I took my books, and we went downwards.
While the teaching of the 9th grade’s Geometry was going on, a voice was heard. Daddy, please play with me. I am alone here.
I turned my face towards the voice and saw a cute girl in a red t-shirt and black jeans. She looked at me too. I started focusing again on my Geometry problems.
That girl came next to me and said to papa, Uncle, will you please send him to play with me?
That shocked me!
Humph! Sure beta.
My father permitted me to play with that girl.
I and that girl both rushed towards the society garden and started playing badminton.
What's your name?
I asked her.
Nikita Rai, and yours?
she replied with her sweet voice.
RohanTrivedi,
I replied.
Nikita was a crazy girl since childhood.
So, should I call you, Trivediji?
She said.
AchaaJi, then I will call you... Raiji. Will that be okay?
I said.
We both laughed.
The badminton game took one hour. It helped to make a new
