About this ebook

Follow the new adventures of Peter, the innocent, honest, young pixie, and his friends; Elli, the, ‘much older then she looks’, modest but powerful Fairy, Timothy, the old, trustworthy, Toad and the, ever so noble, Fire Dragon.

Together, they will have to deal with such difficulties as; keeping secrets, jealousy, letting go, accepting help, prejudicial images of people, and finally, even death.

Told in a classical children’s story style; Peter and his friends, learn of how to cope with challenging these issues through meeting all kinds of creatures and situations.

As with all children, Peter is often confronted with experiences that he does not know how best to deal with, and he often reacts in ways that are not the most appropriate.

Fortunately; with the help of his good friends, good will and common sense, everything always turns out for the best.

    1. Peter’s Surprise

It was a bright clear morning and the day was calling to Peter.

He made his bed, had his breakfast, washed the dishes and tidied up his house.

When all his chores were done, he decided to go out for a nice long walk.

Now, where should I go? he said.

Peter decided to let his feet choose.

Wherever they wanted to go would be where he went.

And so, he set out into the forest.

Peter’s feet led him to Elli’s house.

He stood outside his friend’s door and knocked, feeling very pleased with the choice his feet had made.

    The door opened.

Hello, Peter. What a nice surprise. Do come in.

Peter entered the fairy’s little house.

What’s that white stuff on your nose? he asked.

Oh, it’s just flour. I’m baking some pies. Would you like to help?

Now, Elli baked some of the best pies in the whole forest, and Peter often baked himself, but today he had something else in mind.

Thank you, Elli, but I really want to go walking today. Why don’t you leave your baking for now, and come with me?

"I would love to but I promised some pies to the rabbits this afternoon. It’s their birthday.

And I’ve already been out today – I had to make three trips to carry all the berries."

Okay, Peter said. I’ll see you later.

    And off he went.

    Right, feet. Where to next?

Peter’s feet led him to the hole under Timothy’s rock.

’Ello, Peter, said a deep voice as the big toad slid out.

Hello, Timothy. What are you doing?

    His friend grunted. Cleanin’.

Why don’t you come for a walk with me instead?

Now that’s a much better idea. The old toad smiled and shook his head.

"But, no, better not. I’ve been puttin’ it off for days now, and I’ve company tomorrow.

Wouldn’t mind a bit o’ help though. Me and the old broom are pretty worn out."

Peter stopped and thought awhile. He was a very helpful little pixie by nature, but he did so want to go for a walk.

Would it be all right if I didn’t help you today? I do really want to explore the woods.

Not a problem. ’Ave a nice walk and I’ll see you later.

They said goodbye and Peter put his feet in charge again.

This time they took him on a wonderful walk through the leafy forest.

The morning turned into the afternoon and Peter met a weaver bird working with some long grass stalks.

Peter said hello and asked the bird what it was doing.

I’m weaving a nest, the weaver bird said.

    May I watch?

Of course you can. Stand over here so you can see better.

And so Peter spent the rest of the day collecting grass stalks and learning all about weaving.

It was starting to get dark and Peter’s stomach insisted he went home.

Good night, weaver bird. Thank you for showing me how to weave.

Good night, Peter. Thank you for all your help.

On the walk home Peter thought about weaving, and how much he had enjoyed helping the weaver bird.

    An idea came to him.

A surprise, two actually – one for Elli and one for Timothy.

He was quite excited by the time he got home and made his supper.

    *****

The next morning he was up bright and early.

He ate a sandwich for breakfast and rushed out.

It took most of the morning to collect the grasses for the surprises, and Peter was feeling very pleased with himself.
