introduction
We want to present here a phenomenon that we call American moral humanism. The United States of America is a country which practices a very bold moral humanism. That deserves to be taught to the world. It is observable in the daily live of Americans. This can be observed through the institutions and the functioning of all the states that make up the American federation. What is humanism? What is morals? How do these two things manifest in the life of Americans? By humanism, we mean the policy of a country that promotes progress, development and happiness of human beings or of its population. Humanism is the national policy which respects dignity and all basic human rights. Humanism thus represents the promotion or the legitimate valorization of superior human qualities and ascetic moral virtues.
When man fights to know, improve and defend what constitutes the true humanity, he is doing moral humanism (know yourself Socrates said). It is about the embellishment, the preservation, the enrichment, the development of the intrinsic values of the man. Moral humanism is simply the defense of the higher interests and the fundamental rights of men forming a people, a community, a society. Moral humanism thus understood is opposed to naturalism, that is to say the study or knowledge of nature. Humanism has given rise to the so-called human or social sciences: psychology, sociology, anthropology, morals, ethics, historiography, law, economics, linguistics, philosophy, literature. Naturalism constitutes the set of so-called exact and experimental sciences: chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, ecology...
