As usual, Grinka the sea nymph can’t catch a break. She simply wants to publish her novel. Unfortunately, the two fairy thorns in her side mess with her computer. Too bad they’re immortal and can’t meet the same demise as the innumerable fairies in her book.

If that isn’t enough of a plague, Grinka’s sister Raina pops in from the Immortal World, bringing the first immortal virus with her. And now, Grinka is quarantined in her room with the two fairy nitwits.

Iglance over my shoulder, confirming the bedroom door is closed, then peek out the window over my desk. No fairies pirouetting on the ledge – only a couple of real pigeons. Good.

After a deep breath, I click the Submit button on the computer screen. So begins my transformation from Stripper Grinka to Novelist Grinka.

Okay, I know it’s a huge leap, especially for me. My income as a stripper fills Syndago’s stomach with mountains of food, pays for replacements of all the items Tamor and Tamara break, and keeps an awesome New York apartment with cathedral ceilings over our heads. Not much left to spare after all that, either. And we can’t go back to the Immortal World, being outcasts and all.

But the stripper gig has been grating lately. Mostly
