About this ebook

My poetry book (And there's more.) is a follow-up to my earlier book (From Millport to Eternity.). My poems hit me like an epiphany. My life experiences are a matter of making connections, from what on the surface appears arbitrary incidents/circumstances, like the collapse of dominoes or a house of cards, "Is it pure chance or carelessness

And There's More! - Iain Forbes

    Always love your family

Every little death is locked away,

And is released with every tear,

    Shed with returning memories,

    Of the loneliness,

That can no longer be shared.

The past is full of remembered times,

    The road ahead is unsure,

How can I make my way?

    Who will inspire my purpose?

I look at my empty existence,

    For nothing is nothing.,

    And my eyes are stinging,

As I wipe away my tears,

    But not the sadness.

I look around, hoping to see them,

Work and duty robbed me of them,

    Now my work is done,

But I cannot have them back!,

    They can never be replaced,

To do so would feel like guilt,

But my self-isolation from a cold nose.

Or the mischief of a purring claw,

Have me sitting on an empty sofa..

    By Iain Forbes

    Bannockburn

    Bannockburn, where they fell,

    What the hell?

    It’s quiet now,

But I still hear their cries,

    Above the endless silence,

So loud that it drowns out the screams,

Of those who no longer have a voice,

    If we listen,

    They still weep for us,

It was more than they who died,

The world they knew gave up the ghost,

And all I can do is sigh,

    A skylark sings,

    On soaring wings,

And can be heard in the land,

    That lives in the memory,

    Of pointless existence and hate,

The dead on their final journey,

    That needs no ticket,

    Those that sent them,

    Paid the fare,

    Without a care,

    They were no longer needed,
