About this ebook

Abhor me and hold me to no glory,
Plagiaristic dictators forming my story,
Wearing on me and it’s boring,
So I’m warring to even the scoring,
Bearing in the storming,
Baring all when I see you in mourning.

Mike McCluskey

The author of 42 self-published books including: 14 full-length poem books, 16 poetry chapbooks and 12 short story books, Mike McCluskey has been a resident of Holly, Michigan for the past 26 years. Mike began writing as a young child in the 1980s. He had a notebook with various monsters on the cover and he would fill the pages with short stories of horror and monsters. He would then share these stories with family and neighbors. After they were read, Mike would erase all the stories and write the pages once again with new stories. Mike wrote his first poem in 1991 to his mother as a mothers day gift. He ultimately began a lifelong dedication to poetry in 1997, while occasionally writing short stories. After many failed attempts at getting his work published, Mike started self-publishing his own books to share his art and inner turmoil. So DARK MAN INC. began in 2002.

    On my mind I rely,

    See with my real eyes,

    Realize with eye three,

Third eye from which I see.

    The Shining Star

Shining star for you to see,

Amongst the galaxy, that black sea,

But to see it you must look,

So different from anything it must look,

Bright and gleaming thing from darkness,

Enlighten any night even the darkest,

Enlighten any knight even the heartless,

Break through to any onyx soul, even the hardest,

    O bright light,

    Sight of a night’s life,

    Owed to a knight’s life,

    Plight of a night’s fight,

    Ode of a night flight,

    You’re a shining star,

    No matter who you are,

    Shining bright to see,

For those who truly do see,

Shining star for you to see,

Amongst the galaxy, that black sea,

Now let’s take a look at me,

    Shining so brightly I’m blinding,

But all they see is the dark,

Never seeing the brightness of a heart,

    I spark light lightning like,

    Like enlightening light,

    Like illuminating life,

Making life something you can like,

    Treat me like lightning,

    There’s nothing quite like me,

There’s no thing they won’t do in spite of me,

    There’s no hiding from
