About this ebook

Silver is also precious, in addition to gold. And platinum is prized; even copper and base metals are of value. Whatever the getting of the ore within here, it is hoped that something, anything, even a gem of just a few lines, will adorn the readers soul when naked like the authors. Here, then, are rhymes and rhythms, appealing to the ear, meant for hearing aloud. The themes range from optimistic views of the past & future of mankind, to music, to love, to writing itself. Poetrys magic is offered with any consequent depth of feeling or subtlety in interpretation left to its possessors experience and wisdom.

    What is Worth Saying?

    What is worth saying, and why?

    All of the earth is under the sky.

    Every born man will live and will die.

    Worn is the coat of the catcher in rye,

    Scorn of the filth and the mote in mine eye.

    The Bible’s an olden time book, very thick.

    Vesuvius took out Pompeii, and was quick.

    The Roman world was not destroyed in a day;

    It took centuries of a slow rot and decay.

    The government and the state are not one thing.

    Reason and logic fulfillment may bring.

    Epistemological journeys can clear

    A path for those who would not follow us here.

    The mind of the tired, old man is a cloud

    That drops and drapes over his visage a shroud.

    In darkness is always one half of the world,

    Except by lights lit by man’s genius unfurled.

    So brightness in spring’s seasons may us prevail;

    Let the grim, winter winds blow, moan and wail.

    Hoary in houses, drink we wassail—

    A toast to the gorgeous and marvelous tale

    Of mankind through all his long feats and travail.

    May the story unwind and not fail.

    Ode to the happiness, joyful and strong,

    Lifted by lips to the singing of song,

    If one at a time, or swaying in throng;

    That is worth saying, I hope, and I do

    Pass the baton to the hand that is you.

    For so, my One Chosen, ways to the stars

    Lie open, wide open, to ways that are ours.

    Keep up the golden, warm ways of creation,

    Pass not in drab coldness what imagination

    May delve out from matter’s raw futures in store.

    The glory of life itself gathers and more.

    Hum a glad tune for the voice that upturns.

    Fasten your mind to the choice that still yearns.

    Pray to yourself, for God is man-made

    (Made in man’s image, himself more to aid).

    Let lust for life lead you then not to deny

    The
