About this ebook

Do you want to discover where in the book of Revelation is the Rapture?  Do you want to learn about the event that shall trigger when the wrath of God is finally released?  Can we know who the two witnesses are in the Book of Revelation?  Learn about the end-times prophecies using Revelation Keys to answer these questions and more.

Revelation Keys is an evidence based system of studying the Bible.  The book of the same title is a study guide that describes what the keys are and how to use it to study the Bible with focus on the Book of Revelation.  It is made up of two parts.  Part-1 contains the notes, learning and discoveries that are presented as a list of keys called the Revelation Keys.  These came from the author's personal experiences when he learned to recognize God's voice.  Revelation Keys uses this label because they were received as divine revelation and they open up the understanding to go further deeper into study of the Bible.  Besides the List of Keys, Part-1 includes a chapter that describes the process how to use them.

In its introduction for Part 2, the book talks about how the keys were discovered.  Then it goes on to describe how the application of the keys will be presented in the next chapters.  The application of the keys led to a methodical and systematic process of examining scriptural clues and evidences for many mysteries in the Book of Revelation.  For example it may be used to examine mysteries of the seven mountains of Babylon, the harlot, the seven heads and ten horns of both, the beast and the dragon.  The keys may be used to find the rapture event in the Book of Revelation, learn to distinguish the difference of the tribulation versus the judgment of God.  Moreover, the book also talks about how to use the keys to understand what Paul, the apostle calls the fullness of the Gentiles contrasted with the blindness and stumbling of Israel and other biblical end-time topics.  Together with the application of the keys are several commentaries relevant to the subject matter.

Because it is a Bible study guide Revelation Keys primarily caters to the Christian believer.  But in general, it aims to help people who are longing for truth and seeking with deep interest in Biblical prophecy that they may find and know for themselves the Living God of the Holy Bible.

    Revelation Keys, A Study on the Last Book of the Holy Bible, Part 1 & 2 - Jude Puertollano

    Foreword

    Unless one reads the book with the intention of discerning this message from Christ, he or she has missed the most important content of the book.  What happened in the past serves only as a witness to the trustworthiness of the revelations concerning the future.  It is to our present choices that the book constantly appeals.  Thank you Bro. Jude for writing this wonderful book entitled, Revelation Keys, A Study on the Last Book of the Holy Bible – that is Revelation.

    Pastor Richard Gador, Presbyter of Section 5, Assemblies of God, Province of Laguna, Philippines

    Preface

    This is a book on how to study the Bible with focus on the Book of Revelation. Because it is a Bible study guide it primarily caters to Christian believers.  But in general, I am hoping that this book will help people who are longing for truth and are seeking with deep interest in Biblical prophecy that they may find and know for themselves the Living God of the Holy Bible.

    Let me clarify that I am a regular believer in Jesus Christ who continually desire his Word and His presence.  I did not study in a Bible school.  I believe Bible school is important and maybe for other people it is a necessary path in their quest of God.  But for me I learned the Bible informally.  I say this only for one reason, to encourage you, my readers to study the Bible both with your heart and with your head.  It all depends on you and how far a journey you want to take to discover God and find what good things he has prepared for those who truly seek Him.  Many of the things I express here will come across as my opinion.  This is because many of the things I say here came to me in a personal way as revelation (I believe) from God.  Having said that, I will not present my ideas in this book as ‘thus saith the Lord’.  I am just being very careful.  However, I request two things from my readers.  First, please suspend your judgement of this book until you completely verify the evidences presented within its pages and second let us not limit God how he speaks with us.

    I am continually searching for more revelation in the Bible but I do look at other sources because we need to compare events from a wide variety of sources including history and the latest news.  But, I categorically declare that the Bible is the ultimate authority and reference material of this work; and that I continually seek the guidance of the author of the holy book, Almighty God - the source of all knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

    Part 1 – The Study Keys

    This book is an attempt to crystallize the thoughts that I have accumulated in my quest for God.  I mentioned in my preface that I am searching for more revelation.  That is because I am driven by interest to look for more as I discover each one.  It is like people looking for treasure or mining for gold.  They search for what is extremely valuable, spend a lot of effort, resources and time.  Along the way and in that process they learn that the experience or the story of the search is itself also valuable.  Similarly, what I learned from my own experience is now this collection of study keys, which is a by-product of my own quest. In Part 1, Chapters 1 to 7, I list and show what the study keys are.  In Chapter 8, I will attempt to explain how I use them.  Part 2 is an application of the study keys.

    The Bible is so rich and full of meaning that it is possible to extract value down to phrase and word level.  And when we link words or phrases or connect them with other verses in the Bible it reveals a new perspective without superseding, nullifying or ignoring the basic truth and context of the individual verses.  Because of this I needed to highlight some words and phrases and underline others to provide points of interface for their connection with discussions and explanations, as you will see later.

    Chapter 1:  Introduction

    For the longest time, the Book of Revelation of the Holy Bible has fascinated me.  Anyone who reads the book immediately realizes that the book uses symbolic language to deliver its message.  As one continues reading, eventually a very common (I believe) but extremely important question come to mind - where are we at this time in the story of this fascinating book?  The world it seems is deteriorating to more and more violence, lawlessness and sin.  At the time of this writing bad things are happening all over the world – events such as Corona Virus pandemic / Covid-19 lockdowns, international political tensions, trade wars, threats of military war, killing, race protests, riots, destruction of property, looting, fake news, etc.  We who read the Bible and wait for the Lord Jesus’ return, know where all this would lead to, but we want to know how will the events play out.

    The symbolic language of the Book of Revelation makes it both rich but difficult to understand.  The purpose of this work is my attempt to address that, to make it easier to read and hopefully better understand the richness of its message.  Certainly, I do not claim to have comprehended the Book of Revelation through and through.  What I am saying is that I have found some tools or keys for understanding this book and what I have found I share with anyone who is open and willing to receive it.  For sure, many of you will find some keys listed below that are easy to recognize but some are more difficult, so I will list all I discovered so far to benefit everyone.  OK, here we go.

    Chapter 2:  The Primary Key – The Bible Comments on Itself

    Let’s proceed starting from what many Christian believers already know. It is important to remember that the Bible comments on itself.  This is my primary key.  I learned this a long time ago and have proven it to be true.  For example, if one topic or subject matter needs clarification or definition ask the Holy Spirit to lead you where to find that particular concern within the Bible itself for the topic in focus.  Remember, He is the author of the Bible and He knows everything about it.  This is how I discovered the other keys in the first place.

    (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV)  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

    For those who are new to this it immediately begs the question, how do we follow the Holy Spirit of God when he leads?  Or how can we interact with Him? When the question is a ‘how’ usually the answer is a means, a method or a step by step procedure.  In this case the answer to the question is not any of the above.  The answer is a state of being – an attitude of humility.

    (James 4:6 KJV)  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

    Man in all his amazing intellectual capacity and achievements can never by himself understand an infinite God.  We can read the Bible all our lives, we can exert the effort to study, we can become religious; but without the Holy Spirit we cannot come to the knowledge of God.  It is He who chose to reveal himself to us.  Without his initiative, all our efforts to know him will fall short.  Religion is man’s effort to understand God.  And we know the result of that effort is all the myriad religions of the world.  Revelation is different.  It is God’s choice to empower man to understand him.  It is a gift that we receive by his grace.

    (John 6:44 KJV)  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

    (John 14:26 KJV)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

    (John 16:13 KJV)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

    When you ask God for guidance and don’t seem to get any answers don’t worry.  He is God.  He knows how to make you hear and to let you know.  The important thing is this - from the heart we have to truly humble ourselves before him.  We’ll discuss this more in the succeeding chapters.

    (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

    Chapter 3:  The Current and Relevant Key

    (Revelation 1:11 KJV)  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

    The book of Revelation is a written document.  It was written by the apostle, John the Beloved.  He was specifically instructed by the Lord Jesus Christ to write in a book what was shown him (in a vision) and when he finished writing, send it to the angels of seven churches.  I would like to emphasize that, in the natural a typical person when he writes what he sees, the act of writing would establish the observation into an accurate account.  It would increase the probability that when items or details are noticed it will be recorded; otherwise they may be lost.  In other words, the account becomes reliable.  How much more when the activity is a divinely empowered revelation and documentation process that goes beyond natural human limitation?

    (Revelation 2:1 KJV)  Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

    The second point is this.  The churches were named but, the angels were not named.  Since it was John the Beloved, who was assigned to write and send the message to the angels it would be natural to think that the angels in this case were people who were leaders of those churches and alive at the same time John was alive.

    (Revelation 1:19 KJV)  Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

    The third point is this.  The word ‘hereafter’ indicated in this verse means - from that time and going forward. Combining the three ideas above gives us our next key to understand the Book of Revelation.  Let us summarize.  First, it is a written document.  Second it was written to leaders (of the seven churches) who were alive at the time of its writing and third the meaning of the word ‘hereafter’.  This means we can link the three ideas above with our present day.  Why can we link the three ideas with our present day?  Let me explain...

    Eventually, John the Beloved went to be with the Lord.  The leaders of the seven churches died.  But the church, the body of Christ continued on.  The Book of Revelation is a book of prophecy that has reached our time bound together with all the other books of the Bible which we have today.  The word ‘hereafter’ means that the events illustrated within its message are parts of an on-going story depicting scenes that align with history, with our present day and with events that are yet to be fulfilled.  Because we are the church, the body of Christ, this wonderful book is addressed to us.  And whether you are aware or not we are participants in it.  Pause for a while and let that thought linger – in Hebrew the word is ‘Selah’.

    We are living within the course of world events that was revealed ahead in time to the beloved apostle.  If you pause to consider for a moment that is mind boggling!  What book records the events of things that are continuing to happen and have yet to happen?  To drive the idea further, we know that a record is documentation of an event,
