About this ebook

The sense that “something is wrong” and “things are crazy” are the spiritual and protective part of our being, warning us that climate change, weather disasters, increases in crime and violence, the fracture in relationships, the conduct and attitude of people, the instability of world security, the absence of spiritual awareness, falling away from the truth, unsolvable political and financial world problems are developing spiritually prophesied events. Understanding is needed to accept and endure, the developmental phases of the time and trials of tribulation.
The tribulation, the hour of trial, is not an event that is caused by God and does not happen all at once. Tribulation in the dominion of man is caused by the decision and generational development of the intensification of unsolvable problems created by man.

    The Journey

Humans and the Image of God

    This book is

dedicated to my mother, Rosezina Scott-Lucas, and my father, Therman Lucas Sr., for my conception and their love and sacrifices.

It is dedicated to my grandmother Edna Spence-Angevine, who served as a maid and deaconess for much of her life at rectories and churches. She provided me with a foundation for serving God through Christ.

This book is also dedicated to my wife, Sharon, for over forty years of marriage.

It is dedicated to my four children, Demetrius, Shanelle, Donovan, and Devaughn, who as young children were not raised in a church environment and did not attend church on a regular basis. The only spiritual instruction that my young children received was the occasional mentioning of a belief in God and watching the movie King of Kings on Easter Sunday mornings.

It is dedicated to my grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and members of the Strother family.

I also want to thank Dr. Ralph Sutherland, who is an instructor at National Bible College and Seminary, for providing the knowledge that opened my mind to the beauty of the book of Revelation.

Accept the fact that there is a spiritual element to human existence, and we know the difference between right and wrong. Accept the truth that the Creator God has set boundaries in the universe determining what is lawful in His creation. --Therman Lucas, Jr

    The Journey

It is commonly said that life is a journey. The journey of life takes us to many destinations. Some journeys take us to the heights of financial success, others to fame and fortune. Some of us journey to get out of poverty, prison, or despair while others journey into the routines and comforts of ordinary life. It may be that we are not on a journey at all. Could it be that we are simply seeking something that we have lost?

Because of our increase in knowledge and the modernization of our civilization, are we seeking something that has been forgotten? Maybe the road to find what was lost or forgotten has become degraded. Are we seeking the purity of love, a purpose for our existence, or a lost truth? Are we unable to find what we are seeking? Have we replaced the true journey of life with temporary moments of material or sexual pleasure to ease the stress of modern-day living? Have we replaced the spiritual element of our existence with a psychological deception of how our lives should be? Have we replaced the true reality of life with a lie? I ask the questions and journey with you to find the answers.

Today, many sense that something is wrong. We feel it in our communities, we see it in our schools, and we experience it within our families, marriages, and relationships. We observe it in our weather patterns on local and world news programs and then quietly ask ourselves, Are we living in the last days? Is the end near? We ask only to discover that we are confused about the answers. We find reason and comfort in saying, Things are just crazy. We look to that which is spiritual to help understand these crazy times and our existence as we travel through our journey of life.

How surprising it is for the most educated and wealthiest generation in history not to be able to find solutions for the simple problems of life. Do we know the solutions but choose to ignore them?

During our journey, you may see familiar people and visit unfamiliar places. So let’s walk into uncertainty to find the truth. Let’s travel into darkness to find the light. Let’s open our minds and leave behind the conditioning of our thoughts. Let’s start our journey at the beginning of life to find the answers that we seek. This is where we may find the answer to the question, Why are we here?

It is written that in the beginning, God created the heavens and all that is on the earth. He also created man and woman [Adam and Eve]. God placed the man and the woman in a garden. In the garden, there was a serpent that persuaded Eve to disobey the commandment of God. In the garden, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil grew. God told Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of "knowledge of good and evil. If they did, they would surely die. In the garden, Adam and Eve were to name the animals and cultivate the garden.

Lucifer—full of spiritual wisdom and knowing the difference between physical and spiritual death—used the serpent to tempt Eve. Eve disobeyed God and ate from the
