It took almost 30 years to write this book and to eat the world. The goal was to write a book about food & culture from a traveler’s near & far experiences for others to enjoy and use as a guide.

I want to thank my family & friends for encouraging me to publish this book, however, possible. There were times when I almost gave up, but I kept on going like that little blue Sri Lankan train chugging up into the hilly green and misty fields dotted with tea plants.

I’m not a famous chef. I’m just someone who likes to eat and cook food. I cook by taste and never write my ad hoc recipes down, so I can kind of sort of make the same dish twice, but a little bit different each time. I’m an unknown writer, also, but a seasoned traveler. Of course, global events occurred in 2019/2020 which canceled or made attendance at major book fairs such as London, NY, or Frankfurt difficult or impossible, but where there’s a will there’s a way, even if it’s not via the traditional method.

The Greek word, meraki, made this book possible.

    ENJOY!
