Chapter 1 Sweet Memories
As she placed her head on her soft memory foam pillow to take an afternoon nap, Ms. Wanda Silverstolaney started thinking about her past loving relationships which cover the entire geographic map. Her bed mysteriously started to vibrate as she flashed her brain back towards all of the men who she thought could have been her soul mates. She really liked John Swandergaven—a wealthy businessman who owned 5 acres of land and a huge farm-style house in a small Kentucky town. He was always super affectionate towards her. John always smiled at her, laughed with her, held her hand, and gave her massages with some of the finest coconut and olive oils available on the market. He took her on some fantastic vacation trips including an all-inclusive 3-week stay at Disney World and a month- long adventure in Athens, Greece where they both enjoyed an extensive exploration of cuisine and culture.
Wanda also liked Richard Winstergardenen—a working-class entrepreneur who was on the brink of striking it rich in his oil business endeavors in Canada, the US, and Venezuela. Overall, he was a somewhat shy, tranquil, and introverted person, but when he was in the presence of Wanda, he was shameless, vocal, and extroverted. Wanda was attracted to both his personality and his physical condition. She considered him to be one of the most powerful men in her life, both mentally and physically. Richard and Wanda used to practice meditation together to reinforce the cohesion of their minds. Also, they used to workout together to challenge each other’s overall desire to be as physically healthy as possible. Richard was a walking ball of energy who could take off for a fast 60-meter dash at any moment without prior warning. Wanda had an abdominal six pack that was so strong that she could hold the plank position for a minimum of 20 minutes at a time without needing to rest.
She began to smile with her eyes closed as she continued to rest her head on her pillow. An electric spark traveled from the left hemisphere of her brain to the right hemisphere of her brain. This spark charged up her fantastic memories of the wonderland times that she spent with Henry Bionavichen and his cousin George Flangersnackel. She felt so comfortable around Henry as he opened up his entire lifestyle to Wanda. Henry—a high profile criminal defense attorney from California—let Wanda work temporarily as a secretary in his law firm during the summertime so that she could gain work experience that would benefit her aspirations of becoming a paralegal. These summers that Wanda and Henry spent together were filled with fun at theme parks, zoos, movie theaters, and bowling alleys. They were both entertainment freaks and always seeking something to do to have fun with each other.
Wanda said to herself, If only I had the opportunity to go back in time, I would have asked that man to marry me.
Wanda fell completely in love with Henry as they spent so much time together. They only had a few minor conflicts such as Wanda’s desire for the most expensive material things and Henry’s desire to buy the cheapest and most efficient items even if they only lasted for a few days. For example, Henry and Wanda went to a local department store to search for a new lawnmower to cut the grass. Wanda wanted him to get a top-of-the-line hybrid lawnmower which cost $2,500 dollars. This lawnmower had some crazy good features such as voice-operated self propelling forward and backward, remote control hedge cutting, and Bluetooth capability with cordless headphones included. On the other hand, Henry opted for a super basic gas lawnmower that cost $125, did not come with gasoline or oil and had to be put together from scratch including the engine parts such as the motor, spark plugs, and fuel filter. Wanda was so disappointed and taken aback by Henry’s cheapness, but she loved how he used his magical hands to put together the lawnmower in a matter of 30 minutes.
He looked her right into her eyes as he explained how to put the lawnmower together. Wanda followed his every movement, not only so that she could learn how to put together a lawnmower, but also how to better read Henry’s personality. Wanda flirted with him by placing her hand on his hand as he was connecting the spark plugs to the motor. She also hugged him around the waist from behind while asking him how to turn on the lawnmower. Wanda enjoyed playing the part of the lawnmower mechanic student and Henry loved playing the part of the specialized mechanics teacher. He fell for Wanda’s flirtatious games and reciprocated her affection towards him with the same types of games. For example, as Wanda was hugging him from behind he squatted downward in order to lift her up onto his waist.
Then, Henry yelled, Yee-haw!
and started running around the yard with Wanda riding on his back.
Wanda replied, Giddy-up Woo-hoo!
, as she swung her right hand in the air with a circle motion as if she were going to throw a rope forward.
Henry’s cousin George—a middle-class small business owner of an insurance company in Texas and London—had a much different personality than Henry as he was very impatient, controlling, arrogant, and conceited. However, Wanda loved all of these personality traits in addition to his unforgettable generosity which elevated Wanda from being an underappreciated working-class woman to being a prestigious middle-class woman. George flooded Wanda with a wide variety of gifts such as cars, purses, roses, free movie passes, and free meals. Wanda and George’s relationship always seemed to be on cloud nine. There were never any dull moments as they spoke to each other constantly like tweeting birds on a Sunday morning.
The day when George bought Wanda a hybrid economy vehicle for her birthday, he surprised her at work. Wanda was on her lunch break at her restaurant job and eating outside under a sunshade umbrella.
George pulled up with a brand new car wrapped in a red bow tie and said, Hey stranger, would you like to go for a ride?
Wanda paused and then said, What do you mean go for a ride? My break is over in 10 minutes and I have to get back to work.
George understood the importance of earning an income and admired Wanda’s work ethic as she had two restaurant management jobs which helped support her family.
He said, Oh, okay no problem. I will pick you up after work and maybe you will take me for a spin around the block? What do you think?
Wanda was excited about going for a ride in the mysteriously clean and shiny brand new car.
She said Of course I will take you for a ride in my new car. We will go wherever you want to because you bought the car.
George wanted to reinforce his generosity and said, Well, it is your birthday and as a fully grown 24 year-old woman, you deserve to go wherever you want to go and do whatever you want to do.
Wanda smiled and winked at George as she walked over to the car and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
She said, Well that sounds good to me. I cannot wait to see you after work. I will have something interesting for us to do for sure.
George replied, You know how I love surprises, but there is a nice new amusement park that is not far from here if you need some ideas.
Wanda was pretty good at brainstorming, but appreciated George’s input and said, Um, I think I will take the lead on this one, but I will keep that idea in mind if we have some extra time at the end of the night.
George said, Okay, I will see you later.
George spun away out of the parking lot with his tires making their mark in the restaurant parking lot (screech! screech!) and the engine drumming up a loud noise (vroom! vroom!). Wanda busted out laughing as she turned around and went into the taco restaurant.
All of her employees were standing around looking directly at her as she reentered to the restaurant. They all gave her a big round of applause before wishing her a happy birthday. Wanda felt like she was on top of the world as everyone who surrounded her was praising her on her birthday. Later in the evening, George picked up Wanda and they went to her favorite seafood restaurant in Charleston, West Virginia. They sat down to eat outside as the view of the lake was so beautiful that George constantly spoke about how Wanda’s personality traits complemented those of the lake.
George said, Wanda your soft eyes are as baby blue as the waves in the lake water.
Wanda started blushing and tried to play the role of the shy one.
She said, Oh, you are just too nice, I feel like maybe you are too good to be true. Why are you doing all of these insane things for me?
George was a little bit bewildered by Wanda’s response, but he maintained his composure and said, I do all of these nice things for you because I really love you a lot and I think that we could build a bright future together.
As Wanda looked deep into George’s eyes and grabbed a hold of his left hand she said, Ah, that is so sweet. You are so kind. I love you so much.
George said, What do you mean by the word ‘love’
? That is such a strong word."
Wanda said, I mean that the feelings I have for you reciprocate the feelings you have for me. I am very confident that we could maintain a strong loving relationship. Are you with me on that?
George said, "Oh yes, I am in your favor 100%. We both just need to figure out in
