About this ebook

'I am a good person. I go to church, I work hard, I pay my tithes... I don't do this, I don't do that, and I would never, ever do some of things the world is doing. Then why are these things happening to me? What am I doing wrong? This was the beginning of my journey to enlightenment. I found out that I had a deep respect for God, but not a rela

I know thy works, that thou are neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

    Dedication

First of all, I would like to thank God for His many blessings and gifts. He gave me the gift of writing and the inspiration for writing this book. I would like to thank the Pastors and Evangelists, (Joyce Meyer, T.D. Jakes, Charles Stanley), and many, many others that were on TV and blessed my life with their wisdom and testimony. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses that were there for me at the Christiana Hospital where I had my kidney transplant surgery. I am very thankful for my roommate Teresa taking care of me after surgery. Thanks also to TBN for being there for me and many others that are spreading the gospel throughout the world.

    Introduction

I wanted to write this book for people just like me. I’ve always had high ethical and moral standards. I praised myself for not getting into trouble or being around people that would do things I thought would hinder me from success. There is nothing wrong with that, except for the question, Where does God fit in? God is good, I am good, or at least I try my best to be good. God will deal with the bad people, not me. I have had high respect for God, but not a relationship. Most preachers, teachers, and evangelists talk about extreme behavior, drug addicts, alcoholism, adulterers, etc. But since I never did any of that, I always felt that their message was for somebody else. I never knew how much was lacking in my walk with God until a crisis came unto my life. Whether you are the prodigal son type, the Abel type, or like a lot of us who are somewhere in between, we all need to be close to the Lord. We need to learn the Word and do his commandments.

    Chapter 1

    Humble Beginnings

The Lord has led me to write this book about my journey. I hope that this book will inspire others to get closer to God by separating tradition from the true Word of God. For example, when I was young I was taught good people go to heaven and bad people go to hell. Years later, I found out that saved people go to heaven and the unsaved people go to hell, meaning that the people that accepted Jesus and their Lord and Savior went to heaven, and the people who rejected Jesus as their Lord and Savior went to hell. The majority of my life I’ve spent trying to be good. I tried to keep the golden
