About the Author
I would like to express my deepest thanks to the five dearests with whom I have had the good fortune to work: my brother Ibrahima Bangoura (accountant), Dr Ibrahima Deen Toure (pharmacist), Mr Ousmane Camara (former ambassador), Doctor Salifou Sylla (former rector of the University of Conakry Gamal Abdel Nasser), former Minister of Justice, Doctor Mohamed Rachid Toure (former President of the electoral system of Guinea and Sema instructors of the Sossoka tradition). My immense gratitude also goes to my mother, my father, my wife, Dr. Kaemanje Thomas, and of course to you my readers.
Never could I have written this book without the help and support of many people who gave their knowledge of the Soso culture generously. To all of you, thank you for your sincere contribution.
Preface
At the request of the coordination of the popularization of the kore-Sebeli alphabet and the charter of Kèmèkiriyah kayah, I have the honor to write the history of the Empire Soso. As far as Guinea is concerned, this task is not just an adventure but a major undertaking. First, let me express my gratitude to the President Abdoul Soumah and members of the Soso Coordination Office in the United States of America, the citizens Abe Sylla, President of AIS Engineering, for the support they have given me. I am also indebted to some Guinean executives, including MP Ibrahim Bangoura. I would also like to thank the members of the Guinean press, in particular, the RTG, for the encouraging contribution they have given us.
The dramatic changes I have witnessed in the Soso culture offer inspiration and have pushed me to delve into the vast ensemble of Djalon Soso. Thus, in 1979, I resolved to contribute to documenting the Soso culture. I am convinced that the constructive debates that took place through various radio stations, including Radio Nostalgia, Radio Continentale, RTG and Radio Empire Soso from the USA, have contributed to increasing the importance of the Koré Sèbèli alphabet in our history.
