One of the Greats is Gone
The great poet has died today
The one who knows how a caged bird sings
The world will miss her song
The world will miss her style
We all will miss her language and her tales.
We all will miss her inner beauty
And her love for all.
Her creativity, her imagination, and the stories she told
May god bless you Dr. Angelou?
I’m sure there is a place in heaven for you
I’m sure God will love your stories.
I do too.
Thank you for being a part of my life.
The Legend of the Soda Pop Kid
Long ago, before time advanced there lived trouble
He stood about 5’6" and knew the alphabet backwards
But he was trouble just the same
They called him the Soda Pop Kid
And he stood among the heroes in his place in heaven
He’s always been known as a legend
The question was, is he immortal
Now that was for the Gods to figure out
Or can the People and the Kid’s poetry decide that
One more fight his brother says.
I can take him
You will never take his Legend
You will always be Number 2
