Bishop Carl L. Behanan
At an early age, Carl worked on a number of small jobs trying to find his place in life. He found that his experience and level of education was very limited for the challenge he was facing in the workplace. Carl became a member of the building trades where he enrolled in school as a Prentiss, and he then begun a three-year Prentiss Program where he was awarded a certificate from the National Iron Workers Employers Training Program. In 1984, Carl enrolled at Temple Baptist Bible Institute where he earned an associate of ministerial studies degree. After a year out of school, Carl went back to college at International Apostolic College of Grace and Truth where he earned a bachelor's degree in Christian education and a master's degree in theology. Carl went back to school in 1984, part-time, and finished his education in 1992. In 1991, Carl was led by the Lord to open the doors to Grace Temple Church where he is the pastor.

INTRODUCTION
From Rags to Riches in Christ
My purpose in writing this book is to show to anyone that reads this book that it is possible to live a happy and prosperous life here on earth and with God in heaven.
Any person with the ability to think, reason, and able to make choices on their own can live a happy and prosperous life here on earth and in heaven.
I use the word choose or chooses because it is the choices we make that determine the outcome of the many facets of our life.
Making the right choice will determine the outcome of your life.
I also want to show you, the reader, how I was able to go from what I consider a period in my life where I found myself very poor, not realizing that I did not have to stay poor. This is how I came up with the title Rags to Riches in Christ. I later found there was a better way to live, using my own experiences and opportunities that came my way which I now believe was ordered by God.
As the author of this book, Rags to Riches in Christ, I was led to use my own life as a testimony which will show you, the reader, another reason I came up with this title for the book. And another reason for writing this book and using my own testimony was that I want to be able to help others who may be in the same situation I found myself in. It was not until I found Christ and allowed him to take control of my life that I began to see just where I was headed in this life. I was at a place where I did not know where my next meal was going to come from. So one day, I came to myself and said, I have to make a change in the way I am going in life.
This is when this nice
