I will discuss why there is so much confusion in the churches today. People are searching for something in the church that they can depend on and with the confusion in the churches they have a hard time finding the truth that the Bible actually teaches. There are a lot things that are taught in the churches from denomination to denomination. They do not agree on the things which the Bible is teaching. It would help if we would just teach what the Bible actually teaches then we could understand the things as God has given them to us. I will go into detail on what the Bible teaches in many circumstances and show you according to the Word of God what the Bible teaches about it

Most of all I want to give God all the glory and the praise for helping me to get through my first book and to be ready to continue to work for Him through writing. I want to thank Him for giving me the words that I needed when I needed them to make it right. He deserves all the praise for the entire process because I have really depended on Him to get me through the process.

INTRODUCTION

What I have tried to do in this book is point out how that we have a lot of things going on in the church that should not be happening. The houses of worship that we all attend do not teach the same things. Because they do not all teach the same things, there are many different doctrines floating around about the same topics and they are not saying the same things. I will talk about such things as once saved always saved and show you what the Word of God says about it with the scriptures to back up whatever I refer to. Some denominations believe that it is true that when you are saved that you will always be saved, and some denominations believe that you can get saved and that you can walk away from your salvation. There is a lot of discussion among the diverse groups of Christian organizations concerning this very topic.

A lot of denominations do not believe that speaking in tongues is available for us today. Many of the denominations believe that it is just as much for us today as it was back in Pentecost. I will expound upon the importance of whether it is or whether it is not and show you from the Word of God what God says about it. I will go into great detail concerning the manifestations of the spirit and explain to you what the Word of God tells us is available for us in our time and what is not available for us in this age. There are many things in the Word of God that we are all trying to figure out what God actually meant by them, and we even go so far as to rewrite it so that we think that we can understand it better.

We love to pick the things that we do not want to do and say that these are not the things that we are supposed to be doing in our time period. We love to choose what we think is the right thing for us to do in all the aspects of our lives. We love to decide what we think that God said is alright especially if it fits our situations that we are dealing with in our own lives. I will cover many topics in this book which are great controversial topics in our society today as to whether we should do them or whether we should not do them. I will show you from the Word of God how that we should treat each one of the ones that I will discuss in the book.

One of the greatest wrongs that we are doing is that we are calling the houses of worship and praise that we go to the church. We as Christians know that those building are not the church and that the church is us the ones that are born again of the Spirit of God. The church is the body of Christ. I will show you according to the Word of God how that we are not to even call those buildings which we attend the church at all. I will show you where that God never called them the church and show you according to the Word of God how that we should not call the buildings the church.

I will relate to the importance that when God calls something in the Bible one thing, how we should not call it something else and also the reason why that we should call it what God calls it. I will show you how that we need to always consider God’s Word as the only authority that we ever depend on for anything. I will show you how that the many different versions of the Bible have caused much diversity in the houses of worship. I will show you why we need to use one version of the Bible in Houses of Worship so that we all understand what is being read. I will attempt to explain why we should all read from the same thing so that we will all be speaking the same thing. Those are the things that we need to look at much closer and start working toward doing things God’s way and get out of the way.

It is important that we learn how to interpret the Word of God so that we can all be thinking alike. When the disciples went to Jerusalem to wait as Jesus had told them to do, they were not all thinking about a lot of different things, and they were all in one accord thinking about the same thing. That is how we all need to grow, that we would all be in one accord thinking alike. We need to all be thinking and declaring the same things so that we do not have denominations all teaching different doctrines about the same topics. We need to all be teaching what God has written down in His Word for us to teach and to learn. Even within the denominations, some of the leaders are not even teaching the same thing. Some people will not agree with the denominations but will not say anything but will teach it the way they want to teach it whether it lines up with what God says or not. We need to be all teaching God’s Word and we need to all be teaching the same thing. I will show you how that we are too stubborn to do it God’s way and that we will continue to do it our way and keep the confusion going on in the church.

The Word of God is laid out just exactly the way that God wanted it laid out and we need to learn how to continue to do it like God laid it out. We love to use the excuse that we all have the right to disagree on topics. We even disagree on salvation. That is the one thing that we absolutely should be teaching the exact same thing on. None of us should be teaching different theology and doctrines on what it takes for a person to make it to heaven. The Bible is very clear on that subject and we must get it right. When we are talking about eternal life, we are talking about life and death for the person with whom we are speaking with. They need to know beyond a shadow of doubt what the Bible says about it all. We do not need to teach different doctrines on whether a man can lose his salvation or maintain it once he is saved. Yes, we do have the right to disagree as long as we are not disagreeing with what God says in the Word of God. We need to get over being stubborn and do it God’s way. I will show you according to God’s Word how that we do not have the right to change God’s word and what will happen if we do. It is very clear in the Word of God what will happen to us if we add to or take away from the book of prophecy. That is what we need to consider when we are talking about the Word of God.

The Word of God is the only source of information that we have to use to be able to get the things of God that we all need. We do not need to take it and think of all the things that we do not like about it and try to change it up to fit our circumstances. We need to take it and use it for the glory of God and let that be our final source of information that we depend on for anything that we consider when we are contemplating on what we need to do for God. I hope that when you finish reading this book that you will have a greater knowledge on how the churches have become so confused and understand how that we need to help get rid of the confusions and myths. Once we understand this, then we can teach the whole truth and nothing but the truth and everything that we teach will be pure and from God.

CHAPTER ONE

THE CHURCH IS US

TODAY IN OUR WORLD society we tend to say that we are going to church today.  That is a fairly common statement among the Christian society.  If someone ask you today, what you did yesterday, you will say, I went to church without even thinking about what you were saying.  We just say it and don’t realize that that is not what we are supposed to be telling people.  I will discuss this as I go through the process explaining to you what is going on in our world today with how we treat the Word of God. 

We wake up on Sunday morning and we start getting ready to go to church.  We take a shower, and we clean up real nice.  After we take our shower and all, we go and eat our breakfast and then we sit down and watch some news on television that we think we need to see before we go to church.  All the depressing things that will put us in the wrong mood before we get ready to walk out the door. We hear about all the people who got shot and killed and one of them was our neighbor and we wondered what that noise was in the middle of the night.  We hear about the man that beat his wife up and almost killed her. The sad thing is you knew that they went to the First Baptist church around the corner from your house. You listened to them tell about the car wrecks and especially the one that killed three people. After listening to all this great news, well, by now you are a little depressed about all the awful things going on in the world around you. So now you wonder how it all can happen. You wondered how my next-door neighbor could get shot and why did that man just beat his wife up and almost kill her. That is a very easy question to answer when we understand the Word of God. I will answer the reason why it happens and how it could happen by the Word of God as I go throughout this book. People are still trying to understand how a grown man can do those kinds of things. The Word of God explains it to us very well, we just do not like to believe what is written.

We are really laid back with the idea that the church is the place that we all need to be rather than anywhere else.  I agree that is right if the church is the right place to be.  We need to fully understand what we are saying when we say that we are going to church.  Of which, I agree with you, church is a wonderful place to be if that is what we are supposed to call it. We have called it church for so long, but is that what we are supposed to being calling it?  We need to see how that lines up with the Word of God.  We need to make certain that that is how God tells us to say things.  Most of us don’t think about it that way.  Why do we not take any notice to what we are actually saying and what it actually means?  Mainly because we have heard these things for 100’s of years and never looked back at them.  It is just common place in our lives. 

I believe that we have forgotten what the church really is.  We have been so backwards for so many long years that we still call the building that we go to worship God in the church.  If we really think about it, that building that we go to worship our God and Father in cannot talk to us.  It surely cannot breathe like you and I can.  That building does not have any life in the walls, the floors, the ceilings, or any other part of it.  It cannot get out and tell people that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He is the one that they must represent if they want to have the rewards that God has stored up for them. The building, which we call the church, cannot share the Word of God with us which we need to know in order that we can grow in our Christian life which God has made so available for us.  It cannot put it arms around you, and it cannot say I love you, and it surely cannot say I am so sorry for the death of your father and is there anything that I can do?  It cannot shout for joy with you when you have your child.  It is unable to show affections of any kind.  It is a building.  It does not have the ability to reach out to you and say I love you with all my heart. That building has no compassion, or no feeling of any kind and it cannot touch you and give you comfort with a loving heart. 

It is only a structure made from diverse types of materials which are used in building the facilities that we go to worship God in.  These facilities come in many types of building materials that are used for the purpose. They are built of wood, brick, blocks, and other types of materials. They all look much different because of the types of materials that are used for that particular building. That building still is not sensitive to our needs. It is only a structure composed by men for the place to worship God at.  That is an interesting facet of the Christian aspect that you do not hear people say much about. If you will look in a good concordance, you will not find the word church even mentioned in the Word of God in the Old Testament. The Word church was never used until in Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, that thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. That is the first time that it was used in the New Testament. That should tell us something here about why we do not need to call the building the church. 

A couple of years ago I was talking with someone about this very subject.  And I expressed to them that we need to start calling the building of which we go to and worship and praise God in something besides the church.  They kind of got a little irritated with me that I would suggest such an idea.  They told me that you could not change something that people have been doing for hundreds of years.  Lately I have been thinking of how that we have had Christian ideas and have been doing things for hundreds of years; then I got to thinking about how that they are being taken away from us now, and how that we cannot do them anymore. I wondered how wrong it is for them to steal our Christian ethics from us by just making a law and saying that we cannot do them anymore. Why can we not change something that is wrongly stated to be stated rightly even if it has been done for hundreds of years? We are very stubborn people. That would step on our pride. That would cause us to have to work a little by trying to get the new way of saying things into our mind because we were so used to the old way of doing things. We just plain do not want to make such a universal change. We don’t like doing it because we will have to start thinking about it.  Let us look at the definition of the word church in the English dictionary and see what it says that the meaning of the word church is.

The word church as a religious building in the English dictionary is considered a building for a place that is called the place of worship.  This especially would be real to the Christian religious society.  So they, the ones that put the dictionary together and decided what the right meanings of the words are, says that the buildings that we go to and worship God in is the church.  That is very interesting.  I believe that even they have it wrong.  Although they would defend it and say they are right and that I am wrong. That still does not make them right according to the Word of God just because the professionals said that it is right.  I will show you how that the church is not the building that we go to worship God in.  And then I will show you how that the church is us, the Christian body that goes to the building to worship God.  It is something which we should pay some very close attention to.  Every book, newspaper, magazine, and publication that we pick up and look at, every news channel and everything that we see on television refers to the buildings that people go to worship God in, as the church.  For example, we have the Church of Christ, the Church of God, The First Baptist Church of Jackson, and the Magnolia Assembly of God church and many other types of churches as they are called in our area.  That is so wrong that we call them churches.  We say it is ok.  God knows our hearts.  I agree with you that He does know our hearts.  But he tells us that if we add to or take away from his Revelation that He has given us that we will pay the penalty for it and that is death in the end with our names taken out of the book of life. And some say that once saved always saved. God tells us right here that if we change His Word that even our names can be taken out of the book of life. WOW!!!

The religious body is considered as a group of people that are of a religious group that goes to a church (referring to a building) to worship and praise God and have a religious service.  Notice it says goes to a church to have a religious service.  That is a very interesting concept.  We are the church, but we go to the church to have a church service.  Since we are the church I do not understand how that we can go to the church to have a church service.  That is just a little confusing to me.  I have always called it the church myself.  It fits right in with the rest of the world calling that building the church.  But I will show you how that the Word church is not referred to in the Bible as other than the people and that the Word church is not even used in the Old Testament.  The word church is only used in the New Testament. 

Let’s look at the Greek words here, kuriakon doma, which means house of the lord.  If the Greek for this means house of the Lord, why would we say we are going to church rather than say that we are going to the House of the Lord.  There are many places in the Bible that God calls the worship place that they meet at the house of worship, and other places which the church meets at is called synagogues.  In other places in the Word of God it is referred to as the house of prayer.  I Kings 8:10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, Here it referred to the place of worship as the house of the Lord and not the church.  It is also referred to as a tabernacle. But it is never referred to as the church.  It is called something else because the building that people worshipped God in was not called the church then and still is not supposed to be called the church today.  So, why do we still call those buildings the church?  We talk about that big beautiful church on the corner of 1st and Elm Street in Sylacauga, Al., but we never consider that it is just a building because we call it the church.  That is very important.  Yes, God does know our hearts, but He also wants us to be right about what we are referring to also.  That is why we have to study the Word of God and began changing our lifestyles according to the Word of God not to our ideas.  That is why we are still calling those building the church and not Houses of God, or Houses of praise or something besides the church.

Let’s look at Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  So, is God talking about building a building for his people to go to and worship in?  Or is God talking about building a group of people that will go to a place to worship?  If you read my first book you will understand that we need to take the Word of God and believe it just like God has laid it out for us.  Here we would have to
