Presleith Yvette McPhee

Presleith Yvette McPhee, MBA, ITIL, PMP® hails from a historic Bahamian family whose maternal heritage and lineage are traced for eight generations from an official and an Irish wife who traveled with his family from England and Ireland during the 17th century to make the Bahama their home and to assist with the development of Nassau, The Bahamas. A fifth-generation Seventh-Day Adventist whose greatgreat-grandparent's William C Antonio and Mary C Griffith-Antonio pioneer the first Sabbath-keeping group in the Bahamas from their homestead at West Hill Street and Hospital Lane. Ms. McPhee's great-grandmother, Mrs. Evangeline Antonio-Wood Holmes, and great-great grandmother Marcy C Griffith-Antonio, were the principal contributors to the denomination during the 19th century. They traveled throughout the width and breadth of Nassau, and some of the Family Islands in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas in their quest to establish the Sabbath-keeping Denomination in the Bahamas. It was not an easy task, but for 14 years, the parents of Mrs. Evangline Antonio-Wood Holmes ( William & Mary Antonio) utilized personalized funds and professional acumen to ensure that the importance of Sabbath (Saturday) was saturated in the Bahamian culture during the 19th century. Today in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, The Seventh-day Adventist Church is the fourth largest denomination with over 20,000 members.

    FOREWORD

This book was conceptualized as a result of my experiences during these uncertain and terrible times.

The deep fear that I have for my sisters and nieces who are nurses with autoimmune deficiencies and who go out into the battlefield every day during the war with this horrific disease.

April 7th, 2020 - The numbness when your sister comes home and tells you that she was exposed to a patient that tested positive; and relay the sheer panic, fear and tears shed by her and her co-workers. The knowledge that she is considered high-risk and has to come home to high-risk family members. Despite all the precautions she has now exposed our sister on Chemo, my nephew who has sickle cell and my eighty-year-old father to this dreaded disease.

April 3rd, 2020- One of my sisters, was unresponsive when we went to wake her for dinner. The paramedics were called; they descended upon us with wailing sirens, accompanied by several police vehicles in their hazmat suits. Sheer terror took over; whilst my other sister, a nurse dealt with the medical issues, I call upon my faith and dig deep within me for comforting scriptures.

The first thing the paramedics told us was that her chest was very congested. I quickly snapped out of my meditation; and said, The devil is a liar, my sister does not have this illness, do not speak that on her.

We were not allowed to travel with my sister in the ambulance or accompany her in the Emergency Room.
