    Acknowledgements

To my family, friends and dogs with love and thanks

    for the light

    for the shadow

    and the space between

    shadows drag untidy

    shadows drag untidy

    the past

    is shadow

    that stretches

    close hanging the light

    never too far

    untidy dragging

    raking through

    as memory

    to track and trail

    those lost moments

    balanced in tension

    hair-trigger romantics

    keeping it together

    for things to conceal

    with things unstuck

    blurring the fine line delicate

    but no longer

    a safe ground

    so treading a water

    running back

    to out-tide

    no soft-shoe shuffle

    to unzip

    like ripened fruit

    just darkening clouds

    as echo of mood

    and the spider crawl

    of shadows

    upon ceiling

    that shifts the silence

    from not listening

    to just watch

    on removing a tattoo

    1 – at the clinic:

    as if

    by removing
