Frail Bird is the first book of poems that David Ridgway has shown to the public. He has been writing for many years but has found his voice in the past four years.
This collection shows light and dark sides of the authors psyche. The insight into his bipolar mind is refreshing in its honesty and beauty. The roller coaster ride that is his life with bipolar disorder is lovingly sent to all readers demystifying the pain and euphoria felt by people with this often mentally paralyzing condition.
The loners lament and the torture of self medication is dealt with honesty and affection for all that suffer from mental illness. The author hopes that persons suffering from mental disorder will be shown as human and not psychotics.
