The Uninvited Guest
Wally-and-Sid-Pest-02-03-Unusual, if not completely quirky, is the best way to describe the citizens of Potter’s Mill, a sleepy little town located smack-dab in the Middle of Nowhere. Most would be considered downright weird. Nut jobs. Crackpots. Two particular residents, we’ll call them our intrepid heroes, are, well, a bit nuttier than the rest. Both are practical jokers, with chaos and craziness seeming to follow, wherever they go.
Most mornings you’ll find Sid trying to wake Wally, his twin brother, from a deep sleep. Sometimes he yells for him to wake up. Other times, Sid resorts to yanking the covers off to get Wally out of bed. These proprietors of Wiseacre Farms had daily deliveries to make, and Wally always seemed to make them late.
Wally-and-Sid-Pest-04-Let’s go!
said Sid, shaking Wally.
Go away!
Wally grumbled, rolling over to go back to sleep.
Wally, we have to see Kimmo and Flora today!
Sid knew the mention of Flora would get Wally’s attention.
Wally jumped out of bed and hollered, What are you waiting for?
The brothers gulped down a quick breakfast, and headed out to their garden. As usual, Wally forgot to tie his shoelaces, tripped on his way out the door, and hit the ground with a loud THUD.
Geez, Wally,
Sid complained. You’re such a klutz!
Wally glanced at him with a sheepish grin and kept going, not saying a word.
Wally-and-Sid-Pest-05-As soon as the boys went outside, their day took a gut-wrenching turn. Disaster had struck.
