Clinton Wingrove

Following a scientific degree, Clinton's career started in Clerical Work Measurement and Design where he led the design and implementation of the processes and computer systems to automate an international warehousing and distribution operation. He soon learned that technology alone is not a solution - it is merely an enabler - and, without excellent leadership and management, productivity and capability plateau or decline. Clinton went on to study Behavior Engineering - how the complex relationships between people, processes, and technology combine to impact productivity and development. Using the principles learned, Clinton specialised for many years in training for Optimizing Productivity, Accelerating Development, Sales, Negotiation, and Presenting With Impact. Clinton then moved into HR Process & Technology consulting, designing and deploying integrated process, technology, and management solutions to maximize individual performance and enable individuals to reach their true potential. Clinton has spent over 20 of his 40+ year career in executive and CEO roles, leading major development initiatives in large private and public-sector organizations. During that period, he was able to study millions of data points about people and their outputs. From these studies, he empirically derived models to explain the foundation skills of leaders and managers who excel. Clinton also believes passionately in HR's ability to lead, not merely support, organizational strategy. He abhors trivialization, and by calling on HR professionals to be more challenging of failed theories and processes, and to fight for what they believe is best for their organizations including excellence in management and leadership, he has earned the unofficial title of, "The HR Anarchist." Clinton's international experience has encompassed the UK, the USA, Barbados, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Throughout these experiences, he has studied the impact of culture, especially on the effectiveness and efficiency of virtual teams. Clinton is a co-author of "SuperTeams: Using the principles of RESPECT to unleash explosive business performance," Marciano & Wingrove, 2014, McGraw-Hill, and co-founder of www.WantToBeGreatManager.com He is a member of the Professional Speakers Association and Toastmasters International, and a frequent speaker at international conferences and leadership events. Through one such event in Texas USA, he earned the description, "The HR Futurist, Pragmatist, and Passionator." His personal motto is, "Don't be miserable; too many people are better at it."
