The Future We All Deserve

More than 2,500 years ago, in ancient India, the Buddha gave a lot of teachings about ways of living, how to live happily and decide our own better future. Things have changed a lot since then and not only in India but almost around the world people are repeating what the Buddha said. In spite of many years already passed, people are finding that these teachings are amazingly proper to make them happier.

However not all people have chances to receive these great teachings. That's the reason why nowadays there are so many violence and misery around the world.

The United Buddhist Foundation (UBF) founded in 2014 and officially approved by the California Administration as a Non-profit 501(c)3 Organization in May, 2015. As beneficiary of Buddha's teachings, we want to spread the Buddha's teachings to all people around the world, especially Vietnamese speaking people in and outside Viet Nam.

Much work has been done but lots of other things still have to be done for the future. We call for any action which help people release misery and live better. Above all we believe that everyone should have a chance to reach the Buddha's teachings and try them by themselves. And that's the reason why we are here.

Nguyễn Minh Tiến (bút danh Nguyên Minh) là tác giả, dịch giả của nhiều tác phẩm Phật học đã chính thức xuất bản từ nhiều năm qua, từ những sách hướng dẫn Phật học phổ thông đến nhiều công trình nghiên cứu chuyên sâu về Phật học. Ông cũng đã xuất bản Mục lục Đại Tạng Kinh Tiếng Việt, công trình thống kê và hệ thống hóa đầu tiên của Phật giáo Việt Nam về tất cả những Kinh điển đã được Việt dịch trong khoảng gần một thế kỷ qua. Các công trình dịch thuật của ông bao gồm cả chuyển dịch từ Hán ngữ cũng như Anh ngữ sang Việt ngữ, thường được ông biên soạn các chú giải hết sức công phu nhằm giúp người đọc dễ dàng nhận hiểu. Ông cũng là người sáng lập và điều hành Cộng đồng Rộng Mở Tâm Hồn với hơn 9.000 thành viên trên toàn cầu. Hiện nay ông là Thư ký của United Buddhist Foundation (Liên Phật Hội) có trụ sở tại California, Hoa Kỳ. Tổ chức này đã tiếp quản toàn bộ các thành quả của Rộng Mở Tâm Hồn trong hơn mười năm qua và đang tiếp tục phát triển theo hướng liên kết và phụng sự trên phạm vi toàn thế giới.

FOREWORD

MISSION

1  Use of the official websites of the Foundation (https:// lienphathoi.org and http://unitedbuddhist.org) as storing and transmitting channel to spread Dharma in many different forms. Taking advantage of the existing database of the Open-Heart Community (https://rongmotamhon.net) to continue to develop.

2  Developing existing audio books of the Open-Heart Collection to increasingly serve the need of Buddhists listening to the Dharma. This section also includes the implementation of any content necessary for the practice of Buddhists and the United Buddhist Foundation can resolve the copyrights.

3  Selecting and publishing sutras and Buddhist books relevant to the practice of the Buddhists, especially for Buddhist beginners. The publishing works may be periodical or on festive occasions during the year, depending on the capabilities and convenience.

4  Participating in organized philanthropy, promoting and supporting the activities of social charity and other individuals. This section also includes connecting and supporting other Buddhist sites if required.

5  Organizing Dharma talks and spreading the contents, and connecting to other Buddhist societies to help spreading their Dharma talks if possible. This section also includes the invitation of other teachers to give Dharma talks and for recording and broadcasting the contents.

6  Organizing off-line activities (retreats, courses...) annually at the right time to create a platform to promote online activities more efficiently.
