About this ebook

Some will win and some will lose. Only a twist of fate will tell the tale.

Is it the luck of the Irish or can someone be that lucky in love and life? It's time to find and fall in love. Unwind with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and delve into a world of faith, hope, love, and luck four-leaf clovers.

Is it hot in here or is it just me? It could be the raging passion shared between an old flame, new flame, one-night stand, best friends to lovers, or bitter hatred shared between two people with an undeniable attraction that is hotter than a volcanic eruption.

    Prologue

The auditorium was filled with laughter, yelling, and noise levels that surpassed concert standards. The Delaware High Wildcat seniors were waiting on the edge of their seats to hear what announcement the faculty would make.

Several were hoping and going so far as to take bets that all senior exams and projects were cancelled for the year.

Others speculated it was a graduation announcement and lectures for what to wear and what not to wear and a reminder that no alcohol or drugs would be permitted. Anyone found with any substance wouldn’t receive their diploma.

Alright, quiet down. Principal Don Matthews took the stage. His shiny, balding head was prominent beneath the white stage lights. Eventually the room calmed to a dull rumble.

I’m sure you’re all wondering why you’re here. Matthews went on.

Nah, we love a reason to get out of class! Take your time! I’ve got an exam in Mrs. Patterson’s English class! Drew Howard threw his long arms in the air and propped his size twelve foot on the back of Brenda Daigle’s seat. She turned and shot death rays at him.

Hey beautiful. He tipped his chin up. Brenda followed it with a scoff.

That’s enough Mr. Howard. We’ll make sure to have your test set aside so that you don’t miss that. Principal Matthews pointed Drew out. You’d think he’d have sunk down in his chair but instead he stood, bowed and grinned as everyone cheered.

He’s such a schmuck. Alexis rested her head on Chris’s shoulder.

Ah but a funny schmuck. Chris chuckled and slipped his finger beneath her chin tipping her head back.

He covered her mouth with his for a sweet, slow kiss. It had been at least fifteen minutes since the last one and he was suffering from withdrawals.

Mmm, if you say so. I got enough of all that when Brett and I were together. We had to ride the same bus as the team to games. Alexis wrapped her arms around his neck then slipped off her seat and sat sideways across his lap.

Chris gazed down at her and grinned as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her against his chest. He rested his chin on the top of her head and noticed Rebecca’s frosty gaze on them.

He tipped his head up slightly and watched her blink several times. She raised a hand and waved looking embarrassed.

Whatcha doing? Alexis tipped her head back and spotted not only Rebecca staring at them but Brett and his pack of goons. She groaned and wrapped her arms tighter around Chris’s neck.

We’re past this. They’ve had weeks to let it soak in we’re together. Chris kissed her then her forehead.

Still, I mean they’re staring at us like they hate us. She kept her voice soft as Principal Matthews rambled about graduation expectations as predicted.

"Not you. Just me. I apparently am a player and heartbreaker. I ripped Rebecca’s heart out with my bare hands.

Then I beat up Brett for loving you." Chris shrugged. Alexis couldn’t hold the laughter in that came out despite her holding both hands over her mouth.

You rabid player you. She giggled.

I know right. You should be worried about me. He grinned at her.

Only losing you. She admittedly softly.

Not ever. Chris talked softly in her ear and entwined their fingers then kissed the top of her hand.

How can you be sure? Alexis gazed up at him.

Because I’ve been in love with you since we were kids. You’re all I’ve ever wanted or could want. I’d marry you today if I could get away with it. He kissed her neck then her jaw.

That had turned into a serious conversation. Alexis adjusted in the seat and gazed into his eyes seeing he was serious.

That makes me feel better. Thank you and for the record. The same is true for me. I’ve always been in love with you. She grinned against his lips then pushed his mouth to hers.

You two are so sweet together you’re giving me a toothache. Haden Prescott leaned forward and patted the back of Chris’s chair with a chuckle.

You’re just jealous. Alexis teased her friend.

Actually I am. I wish I had half of what you two share. You two suck. Haden whispered and shoved the back of Chris’s head playfully.

He chuckled and kissed Alexis again. They stopped talking and looked up at the stage when the words, senior trip, left Principal Matthew’s mouth.

He has my attention. Chris kissed the side of Alexis’s head and wrapped her up tighter.

This year we’re doing something exciting with the seniors. Thanks to Rebecca Newton, Mayor Newton and the Newton Family’s contribution, there’s a trip to Ireland in your futures at the end of this month. He paused and waited for the screaming, banging hands and feet, and cheering to die down.

Wow, that’s awesome. Alexis looked up at Chris and grinned.

Nice you two get a pre-honeymoon, honeymoon. Haden leaned forward and hissed low cracking the pair up.

    "Awe are you ready
