Author

Carl D. Nuttall

I just love writing stories for children and YA’s. My ultimate goal is to sell enough stories that I can throw in the towel on my day job. I enjoy working in finance, don’t get me wrong, but I have two children and simply not enough time to spend with them; so obviously I am well motivated to succeed in my writing career. In addition to publishing several English titles on different sales platforms, I have also branched out into audiobooks.. I feel that branching into the audiobooks market certainly gives my listeners more depth into the stories and will keep their attention for long enough whenever they are presented to them. Available in many different languages all across the world, I like to think that my stories are reaching far and wide.I have partnered with very talented individuals, and hope to branch out even further in the coming years!

    Introduction

24 more short stories from the short stories collection. Contains volume 5, which is a special edition centring around the Festive holidays. Also includes volumes 6 - 8 from the original series. Great reads for a young child audience.

25 - Harry The Hairy Hedgehog

Harry was a hedgehog who was very embarrassed by all of his excess hair! Whilst all of the other hedgehogs were spiny and spiky to touch, Harry was soft and furry. This really made Harry feel inadequate and alone as some of the other hedgehogs often ignored him thinking he was a possum; rather than the true hedgehog he actually was. He never had the opportunity to show his true self or how generous he could actually be as he was always judged on his appearance.

One evening when Harry was taking a stroll through a local neighbourhood he heard a strange rustling in the nearby bushes! Harry and his friends went over to investigate what the noise was, RUSTLE, RUSTLE, RUSTLE heard Harry as the noise came closer! A few seconds later the noise was very loud and Harry could just about make out a red ball coming towards him in the darkness through the bushes.

A local child had stayed up past their bedtime and kicked a ball into the driveway through the bushes as they had been sent to bed. This ball was now hurtling towards Harry and his friends and they were not able to move out of the way in time. Harry couldn’t watch and simply curled up into a ball to in fear. Argh he screamed as the ball rolled over him and his friends!

Shortly after seeing the ball and rolling up Harry looked up to see his friends rolling down the driveway; stuck to the ball. The hairy body of Harry had not stuck to the ball whereas his friends’ spiky bodies had impaled it. Harry followed the ball up to the drive where it had come to rest only to find his friends on the ball, upside down, unable to get away. When Harry finally reached the ball, he helped each of his friends, in turn, to escape being thanked by each one as they were freed.

The next day in the village the rumours had already been spread when Harry awoke from his sleep. All of his friends had spoken of how Harry had helped them the previous night. They had all said that because Harry was so hairy he had saved them all and that it was not always bad to be different. All of the hedgehogs who had previously not spoken to Harry due to his hairiness were now queuing up to befriend him. They all wanted Harry to be their friend as they would all feel much safer at night knowing that one of their friends was slightly different.

    The End

    (Contents)

26 - Isaac The Irritable Iguana

Isaac must have been the most irritable Iguana anyone had ever met. Even whilst waiting for his bus he would walk up and down the pavement near the bus stop wondering whether it may be quicker to walk the journey rather than wait. He would do this even if he was travelling a very long distance, which could potentially take him several days to walk, rather than a few hours
