I just love writing stories for children and YA’s. My ultimate goal is to sell enough stories that I can throw in the towel on my day job. I enjoy working in finance, don’t get me wrong, but I have two children and simply not enough time to spend with them; so obviously I am well motivated to succeed in my writing career. In addition to publishing several English titles on different sales platforms, I have also branched out into audiobooks.. I feel that branching into the audiobooks market certainly gives my listeners more depth into the stories and will keep their attention for long enough whenever they are presented to them. Available in many different languages all across the world, I like to think that my stories are reaching far and wide.I have partnered with very talented individuals, and hope to branch out even further in the coming years!

    Epigraph

This is now my fourth book of short kids’ stories, and I still enjoy writing them just as much as when I started. I just hope that you are enjoying reading them as much too! My children enjoy a story or two at bedtime, so maybe this compendium will allow you to inspire your own children to read too! If anybody asked me what the best thing I ever did in life was, it would be having children. This would closely be followed by entertaining them…enjoy!

73 - Richard The Rapid Racing Car

Richard was such a rapid racing car that he had never lost a race in his entire career. For this reason, he was very confident about his ability and liked to showboat all of the time. In his final, retirement, race his thought was therefore simply, I am going to win!

On the morning of the race, Richard awoke in his transport lorry to the scent of soothing petrol aromas’. Richard liked to rest like this as he believed it helped him to win races!

As the back of the lorry opened, Richard rolled himself down the ramp to the sound of thousands of cheering fans! Richard had become expectant of this reception and drove very slowly towards the starting line; absorbing all of the positive vibes. If anything, this only aided him to win races’ as the other drivers’ knew that he was always the favourite; making them feel a little scared.

When Richard eventually arrived at the starting line, he had to wait for all of the other cars to arrive behind him before they would start. Normally this only took a couple of minutes, although today there was another racer who was also showboating to the crowd. This racer was starting to irritate Richard a little bit as he was now sat with his engine running!

The thing which irritated Richard most was that this racer was in tenth position on the grid. Richard had never heard of them before and so didn’t think it was simply due to a poor qualification race.

Beep, Beep, Beeeep! The start of the race had begun and Richard had set off just as he would have expected. He was by far the fastest car there, and after just the second turn in the race, he was already significantly ahead.

Richard had just started lap forty- six and his crew radioed him to pit on the next lap. Richard had not expected to have to pit at this stage, and so wondered why they were calling him in now? He had briefly considered ignoring them and racing to the end, although after all of the years’ he had been with the crew thought better of doing this. Besides, he was so far in front that even a long pit stop would still put him in first place when he came back out.

When Richard pulled in on lap forty- seven, it was simply a fuel top- up; therefore it didn’t take long for him to be back on his way again! He pulled out of the pits and knew
