“OUR BOOTH LOOKS really good!” Dandelion said to her three friends Tomiko, Beepdee, and Lana as they all gazed around. The eye-catching booth, enclosed by gauzy curtains, had a low stage and a wide, glossy dance floor.

“Yeah, just cross your fingers that we sell boatloads of tickets,” Tomiko said.

“No problem!” Lana was the most confident.

“As long as my cousin’s band gets here on time!” Beepdee said nervously.

It was only minutes before. Rows of booths filled the gymnasium, each run by a different group of students. There were fortune-tellers and magicians. Some booths sold cupcakes or custom T-shirts. One group had created a wacky photo booth.
