    ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I take this opportunity to thank all of the men of God thru whom I have become acquainted with the theory and practice of divine healing. Of especial mention are Benson Idahosa (Snr), Kenneth Hagin (Snr), Joseph Prince, Art Thomas, Andrew Wommack, Isaiah Wealth, Smith Wigglesworth, Curry Blake, Joshua Tongol, Theo Wolmarans, Todd Whyte, E. W. Kenyon, and Chris Oyakhilome. I also want to thank Wallace Wattles, Rhonda Byrne, and Neville Goddard, whose books have helped empower my mind like crazy. Thank God for Celina Amusan too who shows me mind power in practical terms. I feel so powerful coz of all these people.

    DEDICATION

To the memory of the late Rev. (Mrs) Theresa Modupe Asein and her family. They have been my family in many ways from childhood. She died about the period I was investigating the healing ministry closely and her family let me pray, albeit unsuccessfully, to revive her. Since then I have taken this thing seriously and hope her husband and children and other family members receive restoration from God such that the loss of her becomes gain for us all. I really miss her encouraging and endearing words. I learned a lot from her.

    About the Author

    Prologue

    Healing Is Easy

But to you who fear My name  But for you who fear my name,

The Sun of Righteousness shall arise    The Sun of Righteousness will rise

With healing in His wings;    With healing in his wings

And you shall go out   And you will go free

And grow like stall-fed calves     Leaping with joy like calves

Malachi 4:2    Let out to pasture (NLT)

One of the greatest challenges I have had with the version of the gospel being peddled around today is that the good news we hear is incomplete. We often forget that salvation basically means deliverance, and we need from not just sin but also its consequences. What we do most times though is focus only on the sin part and leave out deliverance from danger, poverty, and sickness—the greatest killjoys for humanity as far as I can tell.

The Good Book, however, contains a poetic promise we can bank on today. Here it is:

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High

Will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

³For he will rescue you from every trap

and protect you from deadly disease.

⁴He will cover you with his feathers.

He will shelter you with his wings.

His faithful promises are you armor and protection.

⁶Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,

nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

¹¹For he will order his angels

to protect you wherever you go.    Psalm 91:1, 3, 4, 6, 11, NLT

I am sorry if you got bored along the way, but I just needed to show you how serious God is about protecting you from all forms of trouble and danger, including disease and sickness. If sickness is lingering in your body and disease ravaging your flesh, let me assure you the problem is never with God. Once you’re sure God’s not the problem—and He never is—then we can deal with whatever the problem is.

Healing is easy—always remember that; complications only occur when we or Satan introduces them. If we’re the problem, we can renew our minds and get out of God’s way for His healing grace to flow and have its perfect work. If Satan is the problem, we’ll rebuke him and bid him begone. Either way, we find that the more we insist on establishing the will of God, the easier it becomes to receive healing or whatever else we desire of God at any time T—preservation, protection, or provision. You’ve already got it all right now. How do I know that?

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Ephesians 1:3

Is healing a blessing? No one would doubt that coz we all want wellness. We don’t even want to be sick and then get healed; we want perpetual perfect health. Is money a blessing? Oh, nobody likes to be broke, bankrupt, beggarly, needing money and not having it. Is safety a blessing? We all agree there can only be true peace and prosperity when security is guaranteed. We all want to be preserved, to be refreshed and useful within our sphere, to ‘be fresh and flourishing’ even in old age (Psalm 92:14).

Guess what! God wants all these even more for you; that’s why this book is written to YOU. I prayed specifically that this book should reach the right people anyhow, so if God is bringing it to you, then you are the right person in the right place at the right time—either you will need healing in your body or you will be in the business of healing people. They say ‘health is wealth,’ and I truly believe money is best appreciated when we’re able to enjoy it in good health and a safe environment. This book is an answer to your prayer in that regard coz these truths are thoroughly tested and CANNOT fail. They are exact and consistent in every clime.

Having said that, let me be the first to tell you quickly that I do not have all the answers that have to do with healing and health coz there is a God and I am not Him. Omniscience is His exclusive preserve, and all I can attempt here to do is draw from my few years of study and occasional practice of healing, from the word of God, and from teachings of other healing ministers I have heard and read from the past to the present. I really believe a sequel to this book will come someday as I grow in greater experience and deeper understanding of this wonderful gift of God, healing. For now, I’ve summarised the truths here into a booklet, Healing Is Easy.

As we proclaim salvation from sin, let us include salvation from sickness, poverty, and danger in the shadow of God’s wings. The Gospel is the Good News of God lavishing His free favours in an outpouring of love, joy, peace, holiness, health and wealth. If you feel sick in your body or know of someone who needs a healing of repair or of restoration in their body, brain, bone, or blood—any part at all—then this book is God’s way of saying healing is here. Healing is the foremost manifestation of the grace of God. In fact, health and wealth is God’s perfect will for you by the working of the grace of JESUS Christ (see Jeremiah 33:6; 2 Corinthians 8:9; 3 John 1:2). They’re grace and peace multiplied to you.

His healing wings shield us off all the craziness around; under the shadow of His wings, we are protected from the destruction caused by sickness. His name is our strong tower of safety (Proverbs 18:10), even from strains of viruses and stray bullets. From the get-go let me tell you this: one secret to staying free from all sickness and even barrenness, to enjoy health and fertility, is to bless your food and drink (Exodus 23:25-26). Always give thanks when you want to eat and drink. It helped the Jews and the early church; it’ll help you too. JESUS practised it and multiplied food as a result. Just a simple ‘Thank You, JESUS, for giving me this to enjoy’ makes the difference in your enjoyment of anything, even water. If this is all you get from this book, I’m done. You can go free.

To aid comprehension of this rich book, I have distilled the twelve chapters into four sections of three chapters each so you don’t have to read the whole book all at once. Take it in chapters and sections and you’ll finish it before you know it. If you can’t finish it, don’t feel guilty; you’re on point if you only read Healing Is Easy and only refer to this book once in a while. Your comments and criticisms are welcome and I’ve left my contact at the end of this book. Thank you.

Healing is easy. Healing is here. Healing is yours.

    SECTION A:

    HEALING AND RIGHTEOUSNESS

    Chapter One

    The LORD Our Righteousness

In discussing healing or any other subject of our faith, we can’t help but begin with two powerful gifts bequeathed to every believer: GRACE and RIGHTEOUSNESS. The Bible says this about grace and righteousness:

For if by the one man’s offence death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17

Death is the result of sin,¹ so when Adam sinned, the earth and everything within it immediately fell under the curse of death, starting with man. God had told Adam that much in Genesis 2:15-17, and the chapter after that shows God cursing the earth for man’s sake after the fall. You see then that all the problems of planet Earth, including sickness, began with man’s sin. I believe if Eve alone had sinned, it wouldn’t have mattered that much coz Adam was the one bearing the seed of mankind. He’d been made ‘in the likeness of God,’ but after he rebelled against the image of God that he was, he ‘begot a son in his own likeness, after his image.’²

    Whose Image Are You?

Today when you see sick people and those deformed, that’s not the image of God; it’s the image of Adam. All the problems of this world are encapsulated in one word, death, coz that’s the final end of everything presently on earth, including and coz of mankind. Sin is man’s denial of his likeness in the image of God, and death is the final end of man resulting from that fall from a higher to a lower plain. Before the fall, man was not going to die; now he has to die.

Death is simply cessation of activity in a form of life. Man lost the God-form of life (zoe in Greek) and became limited to human life (psuche in Greek) in which sin, sickness, confusion, lack, fear, pride, and strife hold sway. All these are merely manifestations of death (man’s fall from the standard of the God-kind of life). They are not in man’s original makeup and man can never be fully satisfied in this limited scope of life.

That’s why JESUS came: to show us in a short lifespan what man could have been on earth forever. But in years past, we have had a scary version of the gospel that turns folks away: repent or else, turn or burn, align or die! Meanwhile that is not good news; it’s bad prophecy. It’s the Law of Moses being preached again to God’s creation, but ‘by the law is the knowledge of sin’ and ‘the strength of sin is the law.’³

We have seen how Israel was burdened under the law. The law was trouble. It was a yoke impossible to bear,⁴ and it’s become Satan’s greatest tool to keep man back from reaching his highest God-potentials. JESUS is the standard, the mark, of God’s life for man, and sin (hamartia in Greek) is simply ‘missing the mark.’ The death of JESUS was God thus identifying with us in death, and when we believe in Him, we identify with Him in the God-life.

You know what that means? That means from the moment you believe in JESUS, you are no longer missing the mark. Instead, you have become the mark coz you bear the mark,⁵ and all your work on earth henceforth is to flesh out the evidence of that mark in your everyday life. It’s ‘the present truth’ of your being elevated to meet the mark (that is, you have lost all possibility of ‘missing the mark’ coz you have been cleansed of the Adamic sin-nature⁶) that God is setting up shepherds (pastors) to teach us today. We need to learn who and how God really is in order to receive His best coz your perception of a person determines your flow with Him.

    Schizophrenic God?

In April 2013 I visited Cotonou, the chief trading centre of the Republic of Bénin (like Lagos to Nigeria or New York to America) with a few friends. We had quite an adventure trying to learn French and settle into a new country for keeps—a plan that failed woefully, by the way, as we all returned in a matter of months. One evening I went to the beach with two ladies of our merry band, and bought us some biscuits to sit and gist while watching what was going on.

We sat there taking in the beautiful seaside scenery with so much fun amid the crowd in celebratory mood, when one of us suggested we could make the most of it by getting guys to ‘toast’ them and maybe spend some on them too. That’s how one of the ladies said my presence was ‘spoiling show’; as in, I was the buzzkill and my presence was making other guys stay away. The next thing that happened still makes me turn my face away when I remember it.

You know what I did? I got up, took the big packs of chocolate cookies I’d bought for us all, and left in anger, throwing dust at them with the soles of my shoes from behind. What made that ungentlemanly behaviour more shameful was the fact that barely thirty hours later, one of them came into my room with another set of delicious cookies, and we ate together. You should have felt the embarrassment in my heart—which I didn’t show on my face, of course, coz of the macho man that I am. How could I let a woman know she had conquered me just like that? Hell, no! (I’m just joking and I hope some women don’t have me lynched for this.)

It’s this sort of schizophrenic, inconsistent personality in my attitude people unfortunately project onto God. They think God is erratic, easily prone to anger, vengeance, and
