It’s time to go home, Bryant Franklin soliloquized as he picked up his navy Bottega briefcase and took the glass elevator to the ground floor of his seventh-floor real estate company. He had been working extra hours for the past week as he sought to seal a million-dollar real estate deal. If his company won the deal, they would be contracted to build lots of high-end houses in San Francisco. Darren, bring the Range Rover out of the garage. It’s time to go, he said over the phone to his driver. Yes, sir. I’ll be with you right away, Darren said over the phone.
