About this ebook
Violet is dreading her first day at a new school because she's shy and doesn't like attention.
Unfortunately for her, the small school doesn't get a lot of newcomers so all eyes are on her from the very beginning.
When she learns about a bake sale at school that the CEO Girls Club is hosting to raise money for the local animal shelter, she finally pushes past her nerves and reaches out to the girls to find out how she can help.
It's a rocky start, but Violet is the perfect addition to the group and her delicious cookies make her one of the most popular girls at school.

It’s big…
I say, trying to sound positive and excited.
Dad lets out a sigh and pats my shoulder. The movers should be here soon. Until then, why don’t we order a pizza and wait out on the front porch?
We arrived at the new place on a Friday, but our furniture didn’t. About a month ago, my family packed up everything we owned, except for what my mom needed to keep on hand until her current contract ran out in Seattle. The van and movers should have arrived around the same time as we did, but there’s been a delay. Now we’re stuck in a house with zero belongings except what we loaded in the SUV.
Thankfully, we have the basics on hand.
Sounds good, Dad.
The room we’re in is really nice, but it makes me feel a bit overwhelmed. It’s a blank slate, just like my life here. We don’t know anyone in town, and I start school on Monday.
Leaving my friends behind was really hard, but my mom is starting a new work contract here in a few weeks so we didn’t have much choice. My parents have moved twice since I was born, but we’ve been lucky enough to stay in the same spot since I started school. At least until now. With a deep sigh, I leave the room and head downstairs to wait for our pizza.
Just as we’re gathering up our trash from dinner, the phone rings.
Dad answers it and looks relieved. Great. We’ll see you then.
He hangs up and smiles at me. Okay, Violet. The movers are an hour away. We have time to run to the hardware store and pick out some paint for your room. Then we can paint before unpacking everything tomorrow.
Dad knows how much I love to get creative.
Yeah, okay.
I rush to finish cleaning up and then jump in the car, laying on the horn. Come on, Dad! Let’s go!
I yell out the window.
He laughs as he grabs the keys and joins me. That sure perked you up.
He starts the car and puts it in drive before pulling away from the curb. What color are you thinking?
I put my finger up to my lips and give it some thought. "I don’t want to go too crazy."
Dad laughs. You? Never.
I contemplate a few color schemes as the GPS announces the route. The home improvement store is only a mile away?
Before Dad can even answer, we arrive. Gotta love these smaller towns,
Dad says as he finds a parking space. In Seattle, it would have taken thirty minutes to get here.
I know. That’s definitely a plus.
I open the door and hop out.
You know, when you were a baby, your mom and I lived in a small town in the Appalachian Mountains. There was only one grocery store and no Walmart.
What?
I
