About this ebook

God is king, judge, and redeemer of heaven and earth.

As king, God's primary goal is the complete and eternal reunification of his kingdom. Reunification of his kingdom will come when he has destroyed his enemies: Satan and all of the people aligned with him. In Matthew 13:24-50, Jesus says that the people aligned with Satan will be destroyed at the end of the age in which we live. The people who are righteous – who are what they are required to be and do what they are required to do – will go into the next age. The people who are unrighteous – who are not what they are required to be and do not do what they are required to do – will not go into the next age. The path they follow will end in death.

As judge, God must do what is just (Genesis 18:25; 1 Peter 2:23). Before the end of the age, God will test us and weigh our hearts to determine if we are righteous. At the end of the age God will judge and determine who may enter the thousand year age of his kingdom and who must be destroyed.

As redeemer, his goal is to save as many people as possible. Before the end of the age God will warn us that the end is approaching and call us to prepare. His tests help us prepare and work as signs to warn us that we are approaching the end of the age. These are signs we may see long before the beast, false prophet, etc. so that we can be prepared when those things happen.

Prepare for the End of the Age - Al Danks

    Introduction

    Introduction

God is king, judge, and redeemer of heaven and earth.

As king, God’s primary goal is the complete and eternal reunification of his kingdom.

1: The end of the age

God reveals the ends of two ages in the kingdom of God.

The end of the first age

Jesus reveals the end of the first age in his explanation of the parables of the good and the corrupt seed and of the good and the bad fish. The good and the corrupt seed grow together until the harvest. When the harvest comes the weeds will be eradicated first (Matthew 13:30), then the wheat will be gathered.

The good seed are the people who belong to the kingdom and the weeds are the people who belong to the Adversary. The harvest is the end of the age. At the end of the age the Son of Man (Jesus) will send forth his angels and they will collect out of his kingdom all the things that cause people to sin and the people who belong to the Adversary; and they will throw them into the fiery furnace. Then the righteous will shine forth in the kingdom of their Father. (Matthew 13:37-43)

At the end of the age the angels will go forth and separate the unrighteous people from among the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace. (Matthew 13:49-50)

From this revelation that Jesus gives us we see five things about the first age of the kingdom of God.

God is actively sowing good seed into the kingdom.

Satan is actively sowing corrupt seed into the kingdom.

There are things in the kingdom that cause people to sin.

There are both righteous and unrighteous people in the kingdom.

This age ends when the things that cause people to sin and the unrighteous people are removed from the kingdom.

Revelation 20:3 tells us another thing about the first age of the kingdom of God.

    Satan is actively deceiving.

In Revelation 19 and 20 God reveals more detail regarding the end of the first age of his kingdom. In the revelation John sees heaven opened and Jesus on a white horse followed by the armies of heaven.

An angel cries out in a loud voice to all the birds that fly about in mid-heaven, Come, gather together for the great feast God is giving, to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, the flesh of important men, the flesh of horses and their riders and the flesh of all kinds of people, free and slave, small and great. (Revelation 19:17-18)

The beast and false prophet (revealed in Revelation 13) and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to do battle with Jesus and his army, but the beast and false prophet were defeated and thrown alive into the lake of fire. The rest were killed with the sword that goes out of Jesus' mouth and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. Satan was bound and sealed in the Abyss for 1,000 years. (Revelation 19:11-20:3)

Jesus reveals more regarding the end of the first age in Luke 17:26-37. The first age ends when Jesus is revealed. He says that right up until the day he is revealed people will eat and drink, buy and sell, plant and build, and marry – unaware that the age is ending and that the unrighteous will be destroyed. Jesus says that the night he is revealed there will be two people in one bed – one will be taken and the other left behind. There will be two women grinding grain together – one will be taken and the other left behind. Two men will be in a field – one will be taken and the other left behind. He explained that those who are taken to where the vultures will be gathered to consume dead bodies.

    The second age (Revelation 20:1-6)

The end of the first age marks the beginning of the second age.

    Jesus is revealed from heaven.

Satan is bound and sealed in the Abyss so he cannot deceive the nations.

The things that cause people to sin and the unrighteous people are removed from the kingdom.

The souls of those who had been beheaded for testifying about Jesus and proclaiming the word of God and those who had not worshiped the beast and had not received the mark of the beast come to life and rule
