I've Fallen & I Need Help Up

About this ebook
In the midst of this election year and a full-blown pandemic with over ten million confirmed confirmed cases of Covid-19, and over five hundred thousand deaths, the world is on edge. People are stressed out like never before. Yet, God remains in control, no matter how dark it looks. The light keeps shining in the dark, and darkness has never put it out. (John 1:5, CEV). When Jesus came into our world it was not a temporary bonfire, but an eternal flame.
That's what this book is all about. Mother Earth has fallen and needs help up. Jesus said, "Are you tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28, CEV).
My prayer is the seven steps in this book will keep you from falling and give you a leg up, for He has not left us comfortless. The Incarnation continues via the presence of the Holy Spirit. As children of the King we do not fight these battles alone. "God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him," (1 Peter 5:7, CEV). Jesus waits by the phone for your call. He will help you up.

About the Author
Introduction
Years ago, it appeared
my dad was in a contest to become the biggest sinner in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Dad had many demons—a legion of them. He drank, chased women, smoked like a fiend, cursed, and categorized all church members as hypocrites. At one point in his life, Dad was on the hunt for every woman in the Valley—married or unmarried. Dad was also the biggest Lucky Strikes cigarette smoker in the great state of Virginia. He smoked Lucky Strikes (before filters) one after another, and sometimes two at a time, or one burning in the ashtray and another burning between his fingers. Smoking, however, was one of Dad’s more acceptable sins—bedding down married women was one of his worst!
In spite of his demons, we all loved him. He was a loveable man and different. If he made up his mind about something, then that was it—locked in forever. I remember the morning he got up and blamed his backache on cigarettes. That’s it,
he said. I quit!
And he did quit. Dad never smoked again. He just up and quit. He had no spiritual help, just sheer willpower; at the time, he wasn’t a Christian. Now, as I look back on that momentous morning, I believe Dad did have spiritual help—he had what I call his Silent Partner—the subliminal presence of the Holy Spirit molding him in one direction that would eventually lead him to God. And this was none other than the result of prayer!
It was prayer that saved my dad from hell, and long before his affirmation of faith and baptism, the Holy Spirit, in response to prayers, chipped away at Dad’s marble agnosticism until he emerged as a child of God.
Dad quit smoking, drinking, cursing, and eventually stopped chasing women and did it successfully without relying on scripture verses or booklets such
