About this ebook
Gone are the early days of a ruthless agent who’d convinced himself he was invincible. Now approaching middle age, C. L. Jones’ military man who goes by the name of Wisdom, only wants one thing: to stay off the grid, mind his own business, and get on with a fairly comfortable life doing some body guarding and private investigative work with friends from his old line of work in the Agency. But out of nowhere he gets a call from an old military commander who he remembers from his early days in the service. The guy is now a general, still in the service, and has his eyes set on making a run for the White House.
Out of a sense of duty and against the advice of friends, he travels to the small town where the General lives and works, for a meeting. The General tells him a bizarre story about how his daughter has turned up missing and asks for help. Grudgingly Wisdom agrees and the General delivers a folder loaded with information about the missing daughter. So it starts. He decides to spend the day and night in the town and talk to its inhabitants about the missing daughter. On the surface, these people seem friendly but there is an undercurrent of something that is not quite right.
Eventually he is joined in the town by three friends who are partners in his small PI firm and they continue to investigate something that turns out to be more than a missing person’s case. Adding to the intrigue is the recognition that they are being watched by a secretive club within one of the government’s alphabet groups called the Scorpions, which in Wisdom’s days in the Agency, was rumored to be an elite group of special forces people. Later it’s discovered by Wisdom and his team that this elite group is operating a sadistic training compound in the mountains in the northwest part of the country which unfortunately they get to experience firsthand.
Filled with quirky characters, unexpected twists and turns, romance and adventure, Enough is Enough is another episode of a good man’s battle against corruption and the sadistic nature of people who believe they are untouchable by the normal laws that govern the world. The real question is - - Why have the Scorpions come after Wisdom? Could this somehow be linked to his father, aka “Pops”, and his father’s Crew, who just so happened to conduct an operation in the same part of the country?
Above all, this is a story about what happens to men who see unspeakable horrors as they serve their country and how they spend the rest of their lives battling the personal demons awakened during their service.
C. L. Jones
C.L. Jones grew up in a large Midwestern family, a military family who served for many generations, where he learned the art of storytelling. Back in his early days he would sit around the fire pit and share his tales with friends and family. C.L. Jones experienced the depth of brotherhood through out his military career, having received the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, 2 Purple Hearts, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Humanitarian Service medal. The first three books that he's published are part of a series that he fondly calls "Brotherhood Holds the Line". Brothers of Different Mothers, the first book, is a story about how Pops and the Crew grew to become brothers while trying to survive the organization's efforts to thin the ranks. Book #2, Home Front, shows how the strong bonds that formed in Brothers of Different Mothers continued to grow as the Crew helped Surfer through trying times. Book #3, Second Chance, takes the close knit team on a mission to Central America to find a CEO of a large company who was kidnapped by a rebel faction to extort money for their cause. These three stories are good examples of the kinds of stories that he would share.Jones has completed work on the Farm Boy Series. You will recognize some characters from Pops and his crew but the squad is the younger generation of agents working through modern technology with the same bad elements that survive time. Good against evil with some twists. Book #1, Farm Boy, book #2 Farm Boy's Wisdom and book #3 Enough is Enough is now available. An early release has shown that Enough is Enough is an exciting read and was well received. What is coming next, we now look forward to the saga wrapping up with a final conclusion for the Pop's Team and Farm Boy's squad, just wait till you read what happens next!!
