Lamont Jones

Lamont Jones, author of The Gist of Bid Whist, is a card game enthusiast and boxing business attorney. Lamont maintains that the deals most meaningful to him are not those he's negotiated or litigated on behalf of boxing managers, promoters, or champions. Instead, the contracts that most make his heart sing are those he enters and defends against at the card table, playing Bid Whist. He wrote The Gist of Bid Whist because he believes that card games connect people, and that the rich story of Bid Whist is one that deserves to be widely known. Learn more at www.gistofbidwhist.com

Dad, we make what is important – important. Also we make impotent – impotent. When we are consistent we keep what is most important – important. When we as dads are inconsistent, we make what’s important impotent. We make life difficult for ourselves and everyone watching us. Kids hear what we preach but do we want them to repeat what we practice?

If it is true that practice makes perfect and maturity is perfection – and both ARE true aka verity; then, that which is consistently practiced gradually becomes maturity or reinforces and excuses immaturity. Remember the first learning style of a child is observation. So, seeing
