Mastering The Power Of Faith - D. D. Dwase
INTRODUCTION
In our relationship with God, faith is our cornerstone. It is the belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the acceptance of Him as the Son of God and the saviour of humanity. Faith is a gift from God, and it is through faith that you can have a personal relationship with God and gain salvation. The Bible states that For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God
(Ephesians 2:8).
Faith also has a strong emphasis on living a righteous life, and it is through faith that you are able to overcome sin and live according to God's will. Faith produces powerful spiritual experiences such as healing, deliverance, and miracles. Faith is not just a passive belief, but an active trust and reliance on God. It is the foundation for a life of obedience and service to God. Through faith, you are able to understand God's plan for your life and the world, and this understanding provides a sense of direction and purpose. Faith also plays an important role in Christian worship and prayer. It is through faith that you are able to connect with God in a deep and meaningful way.
Worship and prayer are seen as opportunities to express faith and gratitude to God, as well as to receive guidance and strength for daily life. Faith is also closely linked to hope. We believe that through faith in Jesus Christ, we have the hope of eternal life in heaven. This hope sustains us during challenging times, and gives us a sense of perspective and peace. The Bible states For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
(Romans 8:24-25).
Faith also involves love. We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbours as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-40). This love is rooted in faith, and it is through faith that we are able to extend love and compassion to others, even in the most challenging of situations. The Bible states And now abideth faith, hope, charity (love), these three; but the greatest of these is charity (love).
(1 Corinthians 13:13).
Faith is a powerful force that shapes every aspect of one's life, from beliefs and actions, to spiritual experiences and relationships. It is the foundation for a life of obedience and service to God, provides hope and direction, and inspires love and compassion for others. Faith plays a crucial role in spiritual growth. As you grow in your faith, you become more like Jesus Christ, and develop spiritual fruits such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Faith also enables us to overcome temptation and resist sin, as well as to resist the devil and his schemes (1 Peter 5:9).
Your faith grows by taking God at His Word and taking the next step with the confidence that what you hope for will actually happen and it gives you assurance about things you cannot see.
CHAPTER 1
Understanding The
Power Of Faith
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
True faith in God through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, is not at its strongest when you know how things will turn out. This is not having the safety nets that society has given us. True faith in God is when you face something like Goliath, when the odds are against you and you don't know what will happen.
It takes faith to believe that what God says is always right and true, and it takes faith to trust and walk in that every day. However, if your faith in Christ doesn't keep growing, you won't have the faith to see God's kingdom come not only in your life but also in the lives of those around you. The level of faith you have in God at work around you will depend on how much faith you have in yourself. If you don't believe that God can do something, you probably won't be looking for anything to happen. Your faith, according to Jesus, is like a mustard seed. It's worth noting that a mustard seed is the tiniest of all seeds. When a seed grows, its value increases. By providing nourishment, you water and feed the seed of your faith. Reading God's Word, worshipping, and prayer provide you with that nutrition. All of these things nourish the faith seed in your life.
And Jesus said unto them... verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 17:20
It's one thing to be full of faith; however, it's another to actually do something to demonstrate how much you believe. If you only trust what you can understand, you have every reason to worry about
