About this ebook

Everything we experience and believe is encoded through our mind. Every memory, every thought, every sensation, it goes through our mind. The reason humans such as Karina and I exist are to question your reality. To question, the things you perceive to be truths. Question your very existence. Are you in fact real? Are you alive? Are you just here as a cruel trick of the mind? Are you a figment of somebody else’s imagination? Is the whole world and everybody you meet just a simulation? Well, this book answers none of those questions, but we will make more questions, and in the end. It’s these questions that will allow you to then create more. Because of these questions, you will become enlightened once you find the answer to just a single question: What questions are worth asking?

Andrew Goldstein

Andrew Goldstein is a high school senior (soon to be college Freshman) that has already written one book and decided it would be a good idea to write another one on top of doing college stuff. He has successfully published two books before the age of eighteen, worked for SIKIDS, co-hosted two Internet radio shows, and remained a lifelong Jets fan. (Which, by the way, was by far the most difficult to achieve out of the four above.) Andrew will reside in New Jersey for a couple more months until moving to an as-of-yet unknown state for college. While most people save weekend homework for Sunday nights, he insists on doing it before then because he considers football Sundays to be his “office hours.” If that doesn’t give you some idea of who Andrew Goldstein is, then there’s really not a whole lot that will.

    Introduction

The stories and poems that are found inside of this book are from times when I, Andrew Goldstein, and Karina Rodriguez were younger and our minds were, and for some of us, such as I, stuck in an abyss of endless pain, thought, and remorse.

    Andrew Goldstein

I am a very eccentric individual, then again who is not. Most people leave the abyss of pain, thought, remorse, and total confusion sometime after puberty. I for one have decided to stay in such a state of mind. Most people would think it is idiotic to stay in a state that is of almost constant misery, but I for one believe it helps the creative process. Not only that, but sometimes, the answers we all seek are in the places where we want to avoid. Andrew Goldstein is not my real name, but I use this name because well, I am a hated, disliked, despised person who doesn’t want any readers to be biased towards my works. Now I’m going to say some fundamental facts about me and my personality. I love most forms of media, television to magazines. I love and respect all created works. I do have issues with many pop stars saying they write their own music when in fact it’s some poor heartbroken dude in a small cubicle. I am truly a kind hearted person all I do is in an attempt to make somebody somewhere happy even though I constantly fail and quite honestly am a sorry excuse of a human. In the end it is my suffering and demented thoughts that have allowed me to create such demons and creatures that truly exist in the Freudian depths of our minds. I can’t guarantee my true identity will exist for very long, I might die, or give up, or maybe just stop writing. But I hope, I desire that the name I have created, I hope Andrew Goldstein lives on forever, writing, making music, animating, or doing whatever he or she wants to do.

    Karina Rodriguez

As Andrew, pointed out, these stories and poems were made when we were younger. My stories are mostly of love stories. I made these when I was a pre-teen and all I wanted was puppy love. And yes, I have matured and I have realized you don’t need a boy in your life to make it excited, but you do need other kinds of love. Like love from your family, love from your friends and etc. I always loved making stories, and I’m pretty excited to let you know that I’m releasing new things, which are going to be a lot better than these, which I made like five years ago. I am counting on anyone reading my stuff for the first time to please continuing supporting me by keep reading my stuff and watching my videos. I will have more genres and different perspectives in the future.  K.O.

    Conundrum of the Mind

Everything we experience and believe is encoded through our mind. Every memory, every thought, every sensation, it goes through our mind. Well, this book answers none of those questions, but we will make more questions, and in the end. It’s these questions that will allow you to then create more. Because of these questions, you will become enlightened once you find the answer to just a single question: What questions are worth asking?

    To the reader:

Please enjoy the madness you are about to read. Some of the works here will touch your heart, others will inspire fear, others hopefully touch the depths of your mind and arouse the madness. It is that madness, that drop of insanity within all of us that allows humans, to have creativity. We don’t want to be the only ones writing, we want all of your stories to be told, therefore let the madness and your emotions drip out of your mind, a you read these tells of youth, desperations, stress, loss, and love.

    Trapped Love

As I awake I feel pure rage

Even though I have pure love in my heart

I feel like a lion in a cage

Every second I spend here, I age

I feel like my world is falling apart

As I wake I feel pure rage

I can’t put down my emotions on a single page

In order to be free I need to be smart

I feel like a lion in a cage

People look at me like, I’m strange

Because your beauty struck me like a dart

As I awake I feel pure rage

My rage is the spotlight of this stage

Where is my life gonna start

I feel like a lion in a cage

I’m not as wise as a sage

My body and soul will depart

As awake I feel pure rage

I feel like a lion in a cage

    The Room

She threw away the half lit American Spirit. She wanted Marlboro cigarettes right about now. She really needed the extra nicotine right now. But no matter what, she couldn’t remember where she had them. Until she thought about her mom’s stash.

The first satisfying hit of that Marlboro cigarette wasn’t satisfying at all. But it was better than the American Spirit and way better than the Camel Crush. She kept on smoking it anyways.

She had absolutely no idea what she wanted right now, whether it was to fill her mouths with any grub she can find  or to get high enough that she forgot about thinking.

She was really good at keeping her sad moments hidden, she thought.
