Ask God to help you understand these teachings. Ask God to give you a heart to receive what He wants you to hear.

Finally, we suggest you wrap your workbook time in prayer. Pray specifically for wisdom and perseverance.

The next 40 days will be significant as you seek to understand and practice God's high calling of personal purity. The challenge is real and the task difficult. But the rewards of developing disciplines of purity far outweigh the momentary pain of sacrifice.

You are a man of courage, a pioneer of purity. Too few men today are willing to take a stand for what is right, for what is needed.

You have accepted the challenge, and for that we rejoice. You are not alone in your desire to pursue purity.

Be prepared, however, for resistance. Every instance of great historical revival in the church was met with unprecedented opposition. Your fight for sexual purity will be no different. But rather than allow such knowledge to deter you from taking action, may it ignite a greater passion in your soul as you seek the mighty purpose for which God has designed you. Move forward with confidence and assurance that God will see you through to the end. Seize the day!

Why Forty Days of Purity?

This workbook is an offering of forty days of purity. But why 40?

Forty days consistently appear in the Scripture as an important biblical number. Throughout the Word, forty days are set apart.

We believe the Lord is calling you to do the same. Set apart forty days to change your sexual thinking. Retrain your mind for forty days. Purify your heart for forty days.

Our prayer becomes that of the psalmist in Psalm 51:10, Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Here are five examples of 40 days being used for training and preparation.

Gen. 7:12 - The rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.

Deut. 9:9 - Moses stayed on the mountain forty days receiving the Ten Commandments.

1 Sam. 17:16 - After forty days of taunting from the Philistine, David faced Goliath.

Luke 4:2 - Jesus was tempted in the desert for forty days.

Acts 1:3 - After his death, Jesus returned, appearing to the Apostles for forty days.

HOW TO USE THIS WORKBOOK

The goal is to offer God 40 days of sexual purity:

Read and meditate on the daily Bible verse.

(Note: This is a study of New Testament Scripture)

Ask God to help you commit the Bible verse to heart today.

Write down the verse on an index card and read it several times during the day.

Read the question(s)/comment(s) under the verse and ask God to bring insights to mind.

Do your journal entry for the day. (we suggest using a separate journal for these entries)

Bathe everything you do in prayer.
