    Dedication

    I want to dedicate this volume to

    Tomi, Titobi, Timileyin and Tunmise;

    Our four children who have agreed to embrace the habit of daily devotion in the Word and prayer.

    Acknowledgement

    I am grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to come across the truth contained in this devotional. I am glad for the insight, and for His leading every step of the way up to the point of coming up with packaging the messages in this format. I appreciate the faith and encouragement of my first radio producer, Danny White (Wiebe) who embraced my broadcast idea until we experienced the breakthrough.

    I must appreciate my daughters; Tomi and Titobi, who agreed to help me at the start with the laborious work of transcribing the audio messages. I thank Ileri Oyedele for spending most of his summer break working with me on this project. My nephew Oluwaseyitanfunwa Oke did an amazing job on the cover design.

    The motivation and assistance of Rev. and Pastor (Mrs.) Olowosoyo during the publishing process is invaluable and much appreciated.  I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to all those that sent me positive feedback on the audio version of the daily devotionals.

    Most importantly I want to thank and appreciate my love and ‘pie’, Olukemi, for all her continued support, assistance and encouragement

    Introduction

    I was invited some years ago to speak at the birthday celebration of my friend. As I prepared for the event, the Holy Spirit directed me to the book of Proverbs. I decided to exhort on ‘the wise woman’, and ‘the virtuous woman’. After that event, I decided to study the entire book of Proverbs again. God opened my eyes in a new way and I noticed that virtually every issue of life is addressed in this inspirational book.  Coupled with other portions of the scriptures, I found again that the wisdom needed to navigate every aspect of life is in the bible. This began my long journey into the book of Proverbs – I am yet to get to the final stop! I must thank Dr. and Mrs. Yinka Dada for the invitation to that party – that is the genesis.

    Not long after my study began, I started a daily three-minute radio broadcast on our local community radio. Then the audience grew through the Internet. The feedback I received indicated that listeners were able to apply the principles highlighted to their everyday life. This first volume of Wisdom for Life is a part of the messages. I am certain you will find answers to diverse questions of life, though this small but powerful book.

    Proverbs 4:20 (NLT) says:

    ‘My son, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.’

    Read through each day’s devotional and meditate on the scriptural references to obtain your own personal revelation. Read it again and again if you need to, and share it with someone else. It will bless you.
