Prologue
In a small bedroom, there's a lady who looks to be in her mid-twenties with long wavy brown hair and green eyes, wearing a lavender dress with a purple border print, sitting next to a window staring out of it. She's staring at a young couple playing in the snow outside. The couple looks to be in their late teens, early twenties. The girl has long wavy brown hair wearing a lavender and white striped dress, and the gentleman has short black hair wearing black trousers and a white dress shirt with a double breasted gray vest.
The woman in the room just stares at the couple, then all of a sudden, she hears, Michelle! Michelle Baker!
coming from downstairs. The woman doesn't turn her head towards the sound, she continues to stare out of the window.
A few minutes later, the bedroom door opens. A lady who looks to be in her mid to late forties with short curly brown hair and brown eyes, wearing an orange with brow trim dress, is standing in the doorway. Michelle, I know you heard me calling your name.
The lady walks towards Michelle and puts her hand on her shoulder. Why don't you come outside instead of just looking at it? It's been such a long time since the last time you sat outside.
The couple and snow outside suddenly disappears. Tears start forming in Michelle's eyes. Leave me alone. Can't you tell I want to be left alone, Michelle thinks to herself.
Fine, don't look at me then.
The older lady says with irritation in her voice, Just sit there all day...alone.
The older lady stalks out of the bedroom, slamming the door behind her.
Tears are flowing down Michelle's face, but she still stares out of the window, and soon she sees the couple playing outside in the snow again.
Chapter 1
A little over six years earlier, a younger Michelle is wearing a burgundy dress with brown velvet ribbon trim, sitting on a stone bench leaning against a tree that is behind her, surrounded by snow filled woods. She's sitting there writing in a dark blue journal, humming to herself. Suddenly, arms come from around the tree and grab her. She gasps, jumps, and the journal drops out of her hands to the snow covered ground. She hears a chuckle from behind the tree. Her face turns from fear and shock to irritation and anger. Victor Green, you scared me to death! Come from around there!
A young gentleman, with short black hair and brown eyes, walks from behind the tree. He still hasn't stopped laughing, That was just too easy. I couldn't help myself.
Michelle glares at him. You made me jump and drop my journal.
She looks down at where her journal landed. Oh, no! It's probably ruined!
Victor bends down, picks up the journal, and brushes the snow off of it. He flips through the pages quickly. There doesn't seem to be any damage. Just a little dampness on the front and back cover.
Good.
Michelle puts her hand out for it, but Victor doesn't give it to her. He starts flipping through the pages again, but slower this time.
Hmm...
What are you doing? Don't read that! It's private!
Victor doesn't pay her any attention. He sits down beside her instead. She reaches for it, but he keeps it a safe distance from her. Hmm...this is interesting.
What?
She asks with an alarm in her voice.
"I was just reading what you were writing about before I showed up. You wrote, 'All I can think about is him. I hate it when I'm away from him. I don't know what I would do if I lost him. He's a part of me and will always be a part of me.' Victor looks at Michelle.
I wonder who you could be talking about."
She glares at him, If you don't know, than I'm not telling you.
He smirks at her and cups his hand under her chin, I believe I can guess.
Michelle stares into Victor's eyes, Really? Who then?
All of the irritation has gone out of her voice.
Instead of giving her an answer, he softly kisses her on the lips. He pulls away from her and looks at her face. Michelle's eyes are closed and a smiles spreads across her face. Victor chuckles, Did I guess right?
He slides his hand from her chin to her cheek.
Michelle moans and her smiles widens. "Yes. Did you not read the sentence before that? It says, 'Victor and I have been
