Connections

We come into life connected

Through conception, and then at birth,

All are abruptly severed;

Forever struggling for our worth.

Striving to be joined

With a source of nourishment.

As we were once united

To our mothers before our birth.

We need the same true union;

Spirit, Body, Soul, and Mind.

To squelch the aching loneliness

And emptiness inside.

So we journey, ever seeking,

This connection to be restored.

Through love and friends and family,

Like our first umbilical cord.
