    Disclaimer

This book provides guidance on the types of layout errors commonly encountered in the interior layout of a book before it is published and gives some idea as to techniques the layout professional may employ to remedy the errors.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of all possible types of layout errors. 80 Common Layout Errors to Flag When Proofreading Book Interiors is sold with the understanding that the publisher and author are not engaged in rendering professional book-design services. Furthermore, this book’s content is based solely on the author’s own experience during many years of conducting her copyediting and proofreading service.

If expert assistance is sought that falls outside the scope of professional copyediting and proofreading, the services of a competent professional should be sought. Readers are admonished to exercise good judgment when proofreading books and are solely responsible for their own choices, actions, and results. The author and publisher shall be neither liable nor responsible to any person or entity with respect to any loss or damage caused, or alleged to have been caused, directly or indirectly, by the information contained herein.

Regardless of format, the printer-ready version of the book is being submitted to the author or professional proofreader for approval before being published and made available for sale or distribution.
