Introduction

Every story I have ever read starts with once upon a time. I think that is because they did not know when their stories really started but I know when mine started so I am going to begin my story differently. So here goes.

Once Upon a Time

My name is Bailey Wiggins and my story starts on April 2nd, 2005 when I was born. I am an Australian Shepherd. I am 20 ½ inches high and mostly black and tan but if you look at me carefully you will see I have white toes and white under my chin.

I was born somewhere in North Carolina. I am not sure exactly where so I am just going to say somewhere just like other writers say once upon a time when they don’t know when something happened. I do know that when I was 8 weeks old I went to live with a woman named Melody. This is what I looked like when I was a puppy. I was about 3 months old here but you can see I was already really cute.

Melody named me Preston and brought me home. Home was a little apartment with three rooms. I wasn’t allowed in one of the rooms. It was filled with electronic equipment because Melody was a disc jockey. She was afraid I would eat the wires. I do not think I would have eaten them but I probably would have knocked something over so I just stayed out of there. In fact, I spent a lot of time in my crate, which is sort of like a den. I had pillows and toys in there but I didn’t have any room to play. I did have a lot of company because we were a big family. There were two other dogs, a cat, and
